(Photo of Dylan Above)
As I'm walking home, blasting Led Zepplin through my earphones, I feel a tap on my shoulder. I turn around, but I don't see anyone. Then I feel a tap on my other shoulder. I turn around, and who do I see? My annoying neighbour (aka Dylan). Fantastic. (Hint the sarcasm.) "What do you want Dylan?" I snap.
"Aie Chica, my feelings are sensitive."
"I'm sure. And don't call me Chica." "You got it Chica." I just roll my eyes at him and put my earphones and keep walking. He doesn't seem to get the message, because he pulls my earphones out of my ears and says "So I was thinking, tonight I come over and I get to know you. How does that sound Chica?"
"Whatever floats your boat." I said, not listening to him at all, having no idea what I just got myself into.~
As I'm getting ready for bed (Putting on my pajamas, brushing my teeth, braiding my hair), I hear a faint knock. Thinking it's my sub-conscious, I ignore it and get under the covers. As I'm reading Paper Towns, I hear another knock, a little lounder. I ignore it again, and go back to reading. Finally, I hear a pound on my bay window. I get up and stomp over to my window and open it up. "What do you want?!" I whisper-yell. "It's 11 at night and some of us are trying to sleep! Now go back to your house."
I immediately become conscious of the fact that I'm wearing nothing but a sports bra and sweatpants. I catch Dylan eyeing me up and down.
Shit.
"Uh, no Chica. Since you can never get away from me I need to know everything about you, as per our earlier agreement. I think what we have could blossom into a beautiful friendship."
"I seriously doubt that. Also, I never agreed to this. Go away." I say slamming my window shut. I tried to get back into my book, but all I could hear was Dylan knocking on my godforsaken window. Severely annoyed, I trudge over to my window, and don't hold back this time. "GET OUT OF MY FACE IM TRYING TO SLEEP AND YOU'RE ANNOYING I NEVER AGREED TO STAY UP ALL NIGHT TALKING TO YOU GO HOME." "Ah, but Chica, that's where you're wrong. You DID agree to this." He seems un phased by the fact that I just yelled in his face. "When?"
"On the walk home from school." Shit. I guess not listening to him came back to bite me in the ass. "Ugh fine. Come in. But be very quiet. My parents are sleeping."As soon as Dylan steps into my room I throw on a sweatshirt to cover myself. I hear Dylan groan.
"Enjoying the show?" I ask him with a smirk. His cheeks turn beet red.I tiptoe down the stairs and get a bag of ruffles and 2 iced teas. I come back upstairs and set everything up on my floor. "So tell me chica. What kind of music do you like?"
"Really?" I retort. "You couldn't come up with a better question to ask me?" "Oh no chica, this is a very important question. I simply cannot hang out with a girl who likes, *shudders* one direction." Teasing him I say, "Oh well that sucks for you. they're my favorite." His eyes widen so much they almost pop out of their sockets. "Oh nooooo Chica. No no no no no no NO!"
"Chill, I was just kidding." He sighs in relief. What a drama queen. "I'm into rock, Micheal Jackson and Led Zepplin are my favorites." "Oh thank god. I was gonna pass out. Glad to know you have good taste."
"Ok. My turn." I said enthusiastically. "Your favorite music." "Lucky for the both of us, we have the same taste in music. My turn." And we just went on like that for hours and hours. It was kind of fun, getting to know him. It was kind of cute the way his eyes lit up when he was talking about...NO. You can not be thinking of Dylan like that. He's annoying remember? I shake the thought from my head.At about 2 am, he said, "Ok. I gotta go to bed. See you tomorrow chica." And he winked at me before sneaking out the window.
As I got into bed (after cleaning up the chip crumbs from the carpet, thanks Dylan) I stayed up for 30 minutes reliving the nights events.
Maybe Dylan isn't as bad as I thought.
