"Wow." Raegan muttered.
Huge was an understatement. The forge had work benches built all over the place. Tools lined the walls. Obsidian pillars were placed around the perimeter of the room. A lava pit was placed in the center of the room, causing heat to rise up into the air.
15 minutes into the tour everyone was covered in sweat, head to toe.
Hephaestus lead them to a work bench, a pulled off a few tools off of the wall.
"Okay, show me what I need to make." he said, organizing himself.
"Well that's the problem, Lord Hephaestus. We don't know. We were supposed to find the Looking Glass, then come ask you to make a device to help find um... it." Faith said.
Hephaestus stroked his chin. "So, what you are implying is that you have no knowledge of what you would like me to forge. Correct?"
The girls nodded.
Hephaestus took the Looking Glass from Faith. He set it on the workbench, and stared into it. Suddenly, a light bulb went off over his head.
"I got it!" he said.
Immediately he began to shape the glass. With the assistance of Leo, the process went quickly. Meanwhile, the girls sat on a rock watching.
"Do you have any idea what they're making?" Raegan asked.
Calypso shook her head. "No. But I suppose it'll be a tracking device."
"Yeah that seems about right." Maggie replied.
The girls sat in silence for a few minutes.
"What if something bad happens?" Raegan asked suddenly. "Like, what if one of us dies or gets injured?"
Calypso thought about this. " I have and idea."
She stood up and headed to the work bench. She talked to the men for a few minutes, and then Leo walked to a separate work bench, leaving Hephaestus to finish the device.
"We are going to have to wait a few extra minutes." Calypso said, taking her seat next to Raegan.
"A few extra minutes as in?" Maggie asked.
"45-60. Maybe even two hours."
"That's quite a few." Faith said sarcastically, resting her head on her chin.
Calypso nodded.
Raegan wiped her sweat-drenched hair out of her face.
"What can we do to pass the time?" she asked.
"Try to sleep, maybe?" Maggie suggested.
She laid back on the rock in attempt to make herself comfortable. It wasn't the best, but she decided it would work. She closed her eyes, and dozed off.
Her dream started off with her standing in an open field, looking off at the sunset. She felt someone's fingers intertwine with hers.
