Chapter 8

You honestly think I'm going to walk around in that?" Jacquelyn asked as she pointed to the hideous space suit Neo had picked for her.

"Well if I was to be perfectly honest I'd much rather see you walking around half naked but since you said you don't space travel often this is the safest route for you princess," He winked.

"You're disgusting. You know that?" She hissed while snagging the hideous silver suit.

"You wound me princess!" Neo exclaimed, gripping his chest exaggeratedly, "I have been called many things but never disgusting!"

"Yeah I'm sure... Now get out and let me change!" She commanded forcefully shoving him out of her room.

"Very well milady. I shall leave you at peace till you seek me." Neo bowed dramatically before shutting the door behind him in the most ridiculous mock-royalty manor.

"Goddess give me the strength to not kill him..." She pleaded looking up at her ceiling longingly.

Ever since the queen had told him to treat her kindly because she saw her as a daughter, he had been taking it way too far. He opened the doors for her, he pulled out her chairs and pushed her in, he ordered her food when she wasn't even hungry because she had been too busy to care about eating; now she wasn't going to deny she didn't like all of this special attention, but she just felt... awkward. It didn't seem like how Neo should be, it all seemed forced and whenever he smiled it was always with gritted teeth which made her wonder what he was really thinking, but she had a fair idea.

He was now three days late of delivering the codes to his friend Tamara and still he had yet to hear even a whisper of her whereabouts. He didn't show it whenever she walked into a room and saw him hunched over in worry, he would perk back up and greet her with a forced smile and when she would ask if he was okay; he always winked and flirted his way off the topic. They were suppose to leave this morning, but now it was too late to leave anywhere; his spaceship had been ransacked by bandits and rumor was nothing could be saved. Thankfully the queen had bestowed upon him a new spaceship and currently all royal emblems were being removed so they could travel inconspicuously.

Jacquelyn finished putting the ugly spacesuit on, which would have been fashionable if they were still in the time of discovering space travel. She wouldn't have had to wear it, but Neo had been right. She didn't normally space travel and to be safe she was forced to wear the ancient suit. It was specifically designed to help inflammation after the first three hundred minutes of exposure. She sighed as she exited her room in her search for Neo. He had taken it upon himself to watch over the preparing of his new ship despite what she and her queen wanted. He felt out of place is what he told her but in her mind, she believed he was just overly anxious to get going and find his friend, which was probably true.

"Don't you know how to stack shipping crates, you idiot?!" A disruptive shout blasted in the loading docks as Jacquelyn walked into the door.

"I'm sorry sir... Forgive me," a young Physoldi boy hung his head low as Ero stood over him.

"You got to work harder if you want me to forgive you!" Ero growled and pointed to what appeared to be perfectly stacked crates. "You see these?! One good turbulence blast and if someone's walking here they're going to be killed! And who's fault will that be?"

"Mine... sir," the young boy whispered.

"So fix it!" Ero roared which made the boy flinch and rush to fix his mistake.

"Uh... what seems to be the problem my lord Ero?" Jacquelyn asked as she watched the young boy lift heavy crates and re-stack them.

"Nothing, just trying to keep things in order is all," Ero grumbled with his arms crossed over his chest, his ears were pressed against his skull and his tail grew tense and twitched every so often.
