I looked out of the window sighing
I asked myself "did I do the right thing?"
"Was it worth it?"
"Will it make me finally satisfied by myself?"
A lot of questions circled around my mind
I shook the thoughts away when I spotted a dead body lying breathless on the ground
I was so used to seeing these dead bodies as it didn't affect me anymore and I know now how to control my anxiety and my emotions
I couldn't fully determine who was it as the car was driving so fast
I turned my gaze on Jessica who was looking outside the window as well
Her clothes were so formal and clean
She wore a white uniform that reminded me of the nurses' one
Her blonde hair was brushed nicely to the side and she wore some expensive jewelry
It was weird for a woman like her to need someone like me
I turned my head around when she looked at my direction
Dark smoke had hit our world
It's so hungry to tear us apart and take control
Stores, houses were completely destroyed
Pain, famine punched us in the face
A tear fell when I hoped
Wished
Prayed
My mom will be fine
The streets were filled with signs of help
"HELP, HELP" the people screamed and marched
Nobody noticed they were desperate
Nobody noticed they were dying
The car finally stopped out of the blue
"Here ma'am" the driver said with a raspy strong voice
He sounded old
She just nodded and stepped out of her car with her 5 inch heels
I looked outside when the window revealed a huge building with broken windows , it was painted white and looked fresh but I assume that the building was old
I jumped in surprise , my chest rising and falling,I thought I was going to explode
"Step out miss lark" the woman,Jessica, said with an annoying tone
I slowly opened the car door when the sun blinded me with its strong reflection
I heard the birds squeaking and flying everywhere
I felt jealous of how they could move freely anywhere they want to and they always fly together in packs
The world is a weird place
"Follow me" Jessica said not even bothered to look at me
She started walking with her huge heels toward a huge white metallic door
The door looked old and obsolete
However , it actually looked strong and rigid
Probably why they chose not to change anything regarding the door only not even paint it like the rest of the building
I looked around to find that the building has an ocean by its side
My eyes were glomming with the beauty infront of me
I have never seen it for what feels like years
The sun reflected its light on the ocean and it felt like heaven being able to view this
I was distracted when I heard a loud squeaky sound of a door being opened
A man who looked like in his 30s welcomed jessica inside with a hand shake
When she stepped inside the building, she immediately removed her white coat off
Surprisingly the door was actually beginning to close
"W-wait I'm with her " I screamed running to catch up with her
When I was finally inside taking my breath
Jessica was standing infront of me both of her hands rested on top of each other and she forced a smile which revealed her perfectly white teeth
Her blue eyes looked at me with seriousness as if the next words she's going to say is to lecture my lateness but it was something entirely different of what I expected
"Welcome to palmer's hospital" she said
Haaai again , I know this chapter is still short but I promise you the story will get two thousand times better and I know you will thank me later so please please like or add it to your library or anything because I deeply know you won't regret it but I hope you're enjoying the story so far and yeah I think I'm annoying now
