"Booth I know who shot me."

"Who?"

"...Hannah."

Booth was stunned. Why would Hannah do this? He had just seen her. He knew what she wanted when he saw her, but he didn't expect her to do this. At all.

Booth looked at Brennan with curiosity and anger, "Why would she shoot you?"

"She told me that I 'stole' you from her. That you weren't done. She said that "It would teach me not to steal what not mine"

Booth was starting to become even angrier, "Oh my God, I told her we were done right after she rejected me. Why couldn't she understand that?"

"Booth, rationality does not come from a person who is sane."

Brennan was started to close her eyes, trying her hardest to keep them open.

"Bones, get some rest. You need it. I love you"

Sleepily Bones replied, "I love you too"

Booth proceeded to exit Brennan's room, immediately calling Cam.

"Hey Booth, how's Dr.Brennan?"

"She's awake.."

"That's great to hear" She turns away from the phone and turns to Hodgins and says "She's awake" She returns to the phone. "Does she know who shot her?"

"That's one of the reasons why I called you. She said that Hannah shot her"

"Hannah? Your Hannah?"

Booth grimaced at her saying of 'your'. Like she was his. She definitely wasn't. But he wouldn't say anything right now. That's not what is important.

"Yeah"

"We didn't even know she was in the lab, let alone back in D.C."

"She swung by the FBI earlier but I told her that we had a murder and that it was important. She smiled and left. Cam, I need you to have Angela look back at the security tapes."

"Will do."

She hung up. We walked out of Dr.Brennans office, on the search for Angela. She entered Anglea's office.

"Angela, Brennan is awake"

Angela sighed a sigh of relief. "Oh thank God, does she know who shot her?"

"Yeah. It was Hannah. Booth's old girlfriend Hannah. Apparently, she came back to D.C."

"Why would she shoot Brennan? She hasn't been here in over 4 years."

"I don't know. That's why we need to find her "

"I will look at the surveillance, and see what we can get"

"Thank you, Angela"

Back to Booth at the Hospital outside of Brennan's room

Booth is currently on the phone with the D.C police chief, Mark. Booth and Mark both served in Afganistan. Afganistan took its toll on the both of them. That kept them together even after they left the war. Mark was a man in his mid-forties, married to a wonderful woman and had 3 children. Yet he still made time to hang out Booth. They were each other's support throughout the war and are to this day.

"She knows who shot her, Mark"

"Well, Seeley who was it?"

"It was a woman named Hannah Burley."

"Why does that name sound so familiar?"

Booth didn't want to talk about it, but if he didn't say something about it someone else would.

"That may be because I dated her about 4 years ago or because she is a journalist"

"Oh right! I remember you dating her. But that's not the point right now. Do we have any idea why she did what she did?"

"She shot Bon-Brennan because she thought that Brennan was stealing me from her. I don't understand it. We haven't dated in over 4 years. "

"This is like some high school drama. But we need to find her. She obviously isn't in her right mind and isn't sane. She could do more harm. Or she could come back and try to finish what she started. Women like this are determined and will do anything to get what they want."

"You're right. I'll get security to the hospital room. I want an APB out on her."

"Will do Seeley."

Booth promptly hangs up. He looks inside of her room. Seeing her lying there. A second time. Clinging on to life. It pained him. He walked in. She looked peaceful. She was sleeping and he didn't want to wake her up. She had asked about Christine after she had awoken a second time. Luckily, Max was there to keep watch over Christine while all of this is going on. She was at his house, safe. Booth walked over and gave his Bones a kiss on the forehead whispering an "I love you" before picking his head up from hers and walking out. He had to go home and shower. But he would be back right after to sit with his Bones. He walked into their home. It didn't seem the same without her. He quickly hopped into the shower. The shower seemed to calm his nerves and relaxed him a little bit. The shower lasted about 15 minutes before he got out. He threw on some clothes and started to head toward the door. But he heard a noise coming from the kitchen. He didn't have his gun with him, so he continued with caution. He slowly walked over.

"Hello, who's there?"

He turned on the kitchen light to find the one person he didn't want to see, but at the same time wanted to catch.

"Hannah."
