Chapter 16

~Alexis's POV~

     I can't believe Liam did this to my best friend! I was currently running towards the woods. I could hear Niall and Louis behind me. I guess Harry and Zayn didn't wake up. I could hear someone running ahead of me. Damn that white chick runs fast! It probably doesn't help that I'm lazy too. Focus Alexis! I really need to stop having conversationss with myself. I see a flash of blonde hair ahead of me. "Ashley! Stop running!" I yell. I swear she better not do what she use to do. I see Ashley has stopped up ahead of me. I slow down to a walk. I was breathing hard. We must be atleast two miles into the forest! I walk up too Ashley and hug her. "Are you okay?" I ask, facing her. Just as I feared. Her face was a blank mask again. You could only tell she was crying because of the tear stains on her cheeks and her read puffy eyes. Her cheek was swelling and starting to bruise. How hard did Liam hit her? "I'm fine Alexis. I just needed to clear my head, so I decided to take a run." Ashley says giving me a fake smile. Liam did it. He brought back the depressed Ashley. She was like this during eight grade year. A lot of stuff happened that year, and it became to much for handle I guess. She would always try to hide it though. She pretended to be happy, and lots of people fell for it. I did even for awhile. "Don't lie to me Ashley." I say rubbing my arms from the cold wind. I could see Louis and Niall standing a little ways away. Probably to give us some privacy. "I'm not lieing Alexis." Ashley said taking the hoodie she was wearing off and handing it too me, "Put this on before you freeze." Ashley commands me. I sigh and put on the hoodie. Even when she was hurting she was looking out for me. Ashley was now just wearing skinny jeans and a penguin shirt. I feel bad for taking the hoodie away. "Come on Ashley let's go back." Ashley nodded and slowly started to walk back the way we came. Her blonde hair was blowing around her face as the wind picked up again. "I assume you woke up from the commontion we caused." Ashley stated looking at the grond making sure she wouldn't trip. "Yeah. After I found out what happened I slapped Liam, and then came after you." Ashley froze, "Why the hell would you slap him. No one should be abused like that." she stated with an edge in her voice. I wan't expecting this reaction, "Well what about when we slap eachother?" She sighed, "That's different. We know that we are joking around and we don't actually slap eachother." She was right. By this time we reached Niall and Louis. "Are you okay Ashley?" Louis asked worriedly. Ashley's posture stiffened around them, but it was barley noticable. "Yeah, I'm fine. Let's go back. I'm hungry." Ashley says walking past us. We all share a look and follow her.

     We arrived back at the bungalow in what I'm guessing was around fifteen minutes. Ashley, Louis, Niall, and I went to the kitchen. Harry and Zayn came in after us, closly followed by Liam. "Ashley, I'm so-" Liam began but was cutt off by Ashley. "It's fine Liam. I know you didn't mean it, besides I'm use to it." Ashleys says muttering the last part at the end. I think I was the only one who heard her. I looked at Ashley sadly. I saw some scratches on her that she must've gotten when she was running through the woods. "Alexis stop looking at me like that." Ashley sais as I looked away guiltily. Ashley began fixing herself a sandwhich and soon enough we were all eating. When we were done we all went back to bed. Ashley and I slept in one room while Louis, Harry, Zayn, Niall, and Liam slept somewhere else. I hope Ashley will be back to her normal soon. Those were my last thoughts before I drifted off into sleep.
