Okay guys, I know it's been a while, but the first year of college had me busy. I didn't really have time to update as often as I would've liked. On top of that, I felt that I had no new ideas for the story, so that set me off a bit. Luckily, I found new inspiration recently and have been jotting down ideas for the story. I am going to try my absolute best to update on a more consistent schedule. My sincerest of thanks goes to my readers who have been patiently waiting for the next chapter. Well, here it is. I'm hoping this is the first of many consistent chapters. Please excuse any errors in grammar, I wrote most of this on my phone. Enjoy!

It's been almost a week since I've been getting that weird vibe from Lauren. She's been talking to me, but I still feel that she's holding back. On top of that, Lewis has been trying to help the girls control their powers, much to their annoyance. Cleo started giving him an attitude, and felt bad for him. I know Lewis, and he just wants to do everything he can to help.

Currently, I was working a shift at the marine park. As I was getting some supplies, I stopped at Cleo's ice cream stand. "Hey kid," I said as I leaned up against the stand.

"Oh hey Will!" Cleo said with a smile. "I didn't know you were working today!"

"I was called in," I shrugged.

Cleo shot me a look of concern. "Are you okay? You still thinking about Lauren?"

I nodded slowly. "It just hasn't been the same. It's hard to keep even a simple conversation going with her. I swear, it's like she's scared of me or something."

Cleo sighed. "Maybe it's time you had a serious talk with her. It's not fair to you that she's being like this."

"Yeah, I guess you're right," I nodded. "How're you and Lewis doing?"

Cleo's eyes darted to the ground. "I uhh.... broke up with him yesterday."

"Wait what?" I asked in shock. "Why?"

"He was just trying to get too involved in helping us. It became too overwhelming," Cleo ended with a whisper, probably afraid that I was going to judge her.

I was a little skeptical, however. Cleo always seemed to need Lewis in her life, or else it would go haywire. I didn't know if her decision was just impulsive. "Are you sure you want to distance yourself from him like this?"

"It's for the best," Cleo said quickly.

I threw my hands up in surrender. "Alright, whatever. It's your life." I pulled out my phone and checked the time. My shift ended in an hour. I thought for a second, then decided to shoot Lauren a text.

Hey Lauren, can we meet up at the moon pool in an hour?

I shoved my phone back into my pocket, knowing I wasn't going to get a response for a while. Recently, Lauren tended to not answer as fast as she used to.

I was a floater for today's shift, so I decided to check on Ronnie. "I'll catch ya later Cleo," I said with a small wave. Cleo waved back. I could see a sort of uneasiness in her eyes. She didn't want to break. She regretted breaking up with Lewis. I knew it.

When I got to Ronnie's enclosure, I heard a high pitched squeal come from the other end of the pool. "Hey buddy!" I called over to Ronnie. "What're you up to today?" In response, Ronnie swam up to me and used his snout to toss a bit of water towards me. I quickly dodged it before it made contact with my skin. "Nice try, Ronnie," I laughed as I rolled my eyes at him. Ronnie just cackled in laughter. "You're something else," I whispered as I shook my head.

After I had spent a few minutes playing with Ronnie, I felt my phone vibrate. When I pulled it out of my pocket. The screen lit up.

Yeah, sure.
