*Niall’s P.O.V.*
“Thanks again for coming. You guys made it a special night for Emily.” I greeted the last group of guests. They smile and thank me before leaving the building. I shut the doors, locking the place up. I rented a suite at the condo across the street on the beach for those of us who stayed later to help with the clean-up.
Tonight turned out perfect. Everyone seemed to be happy and had a great time. I couldn’t help but notice how Emily was smiling the entire night. I’m surprised she lasted so long out on the dance floor. Every time I looked over, she had a grin on her face, and she was laughing and dancing with a new group of people.
I haven’t talked to Emily since earlier this evening. She came up to me not too long ago, asking if I was doing okay. I informed her that we were good to go as soon as I showed all of the guest to the door, and finished cleaning the hall. She insisted that she help, but I couldn’t allow that. I lead her to a table because she looked tired, and she had a busy night.
I sought my logic as correct, as I reached the table Emily was so exhaustedly drooling on. I come to the table to find her in a slumber, A deep, peaceful trance that could be difficult to lure her out of.
I decide, since Em looks so beautiful when she sleeps, to carry her to the condo. I gently pick her up, and her belongings are slung over my shoulder. As I walk out of the hall, I lock the doors behind me. Emily stirs in my arm. I carry her bridal style all the way back to the condo.
Once at the suite, I see all the others. I gaze the living area to see Zayn, Liam, Harry, Louis, Perrie, Dani, El, Connor, Rebekah, and Frankie.
“Hey bud,” Louis said, looking up from his telly program.
“Hey Lou,” I smile, “Could you help me get Em to her bed?” I ask beginning to walk down the hall to her room’s door.
“Sure lad,” He says getting up from his spot on the couch next to a sleeping El.
The condo house I rented out for the weekend is a grand space. There is a separate kitchen and Dining area. Also there are 8 separate bedrooms; each containing a king size bed, big screen t.v., a bathroom suite, and a futon. To further add to the greatness of this housing, it is located on a private beach. Something we plan to enjoy tomorrow.
Louis pulls back the covers of Emily’s bed. I turn on the lamp, invading the darkness with a dim light. He helps take off her shoes as I lay her on the layers of plush cushion. I thank him as he leaves the room. I cover Emily with the soft duvet, and sit on the bed looking at her beautiful face. I don’t realize I was staring until I hear someone clear their voice behind me. I look back to see her friend Rebekah.
“Hey.” She says in a sweet, yet quiet tone.
“Hey,” I replied.
“Look,” she began, “I just wanted to thank you for what you did for Emily tonight. I know it meant a lot to her.”
“It was an honor. Really. She deserves to be treated like this all the time.” I say looking back over to Emily’s calm expression.
“She really does, and I’m glad she finally found somebody to give her as much respect as you have.” I nod, taking all of this in. I glance at Beka’s face. An expression of pain flashes in her eyes, but it quickly fades. She looks at me with these eyes like she has to tell me something important, but she just can’t get the words out.
“Emily…. Sh- she… has been through a lot,” Beka says with glossy eyes, “I don’t have the right to tell you exactly what, but… She has gone through some pretty rough stuff.” She says as a single tear rolls down her cheek. “So I just want to make sure you never hurt her, ya hear?” She says wiping away the tear; mad at herself for crying.
“I would never. I promise.” I say with complete honesty. Who would hurt Emily? She is such a caring person, with a great personality. She would never hurt a fly. I find it difficult to believe she has gone through such a hard time.
“You seem like the perfect guy for my best friend. I see the way you look at her, and the way she looks at you. It looks like love. I’m glad she ran into you. Take care of her for me. Don’t ever let her go.” She said with a grin.
“I will.” I say giving her a hug. “Goodnight beka” I say. She gets up and nods, and walks out of the room.
I look back down at Emily, and smile to myself. I make a pledge to myself for the safety of Emily. I, from here on out, will give her all I have to offer, and protect her with my life.
*Harry’s P.O.V.*
Everyone is asleep in their rooms except for me, Niall, and Rebekah. Niall has been in Emily’s room for 2 hours now, and I don’t think he is going to come back out any time tonight. I’m currently flipping through channels on the telly, not finding anything good.
“Oo go back to that last channel!” I hear from behind me. I crank my neck to the side to see Rebekah standing there gazing at the screen. I look back at the t.v. and flip the channel back. Bonnie and Clyde is on. I smile, remembering watching this show all the time with my mum. I always loved it; I can’t believe I skipped it!
Beka sits down on the other end of the couch, and the show goes to a commercial break. She groans, leaning her head back, and I laugh. She looks over at me and sticks her tongue out at me.
“You must really like that show,” I laugh again.
“Uh… yea! It’s my favorite.” She whisper yells.
“It just so happens to be mine too.” I say, and she gapes. I laugh, and she blushes.
We talk for a while, conversing about the older movie, and the newer one, both agreeing the older one was better. After all was over, I shut the t.v. off, and we decided on playing 21 questions because neither of us was tired.
“Who do you spend most of your time with?” I question.
“Before Emily moved… It was mostly her.” She said “Who do you miss the most?”
“To be completely honest… my mum, I haven’t seen her in a while.” I say.
“Awww!” Beka coo’s.
“Whatever,” I roll my eyes while smirking. “Do you have/had a boyfriend?” I must’ve hit a nerve, because Beka tenses.
“Uhh… H-had.” She stammers. “Can we change the subject?” I knew this was a touchy subject, the moment that question left my mouth. She gulps, and I nod, understanding.
“It’s getting late,” I start after a few moments of uncomfortable silence, “I’m just gonna go hit the hay.”
“Goodnight,” Beka agrees as I stand up. I begin walking, and trip over the rug, and catch myself. She giggles, and I find myself blushing. Quickly I gather myself, and walk quickly to my bedroom. I open the door, and shut it behind me. Letting out a sigh, I lean my back against the door and slide down to the floor.
Beka keeps a lot to herself. This sense of mystery gives me this feeling of curiosity. She gives off this vibe that I just can’t depicter. They always say curiosity killed the cat; it’s time to figure out if that tale is true. It may difficult, and I may have to pry the secrecy from her, but I’ll figure something out sooner or later.
I stand up from my spot on the floor, becoming extremely exhausted. I saunter over to the mattress. I plop down and surround myself with the plush bedspread. Soon, I am brought into a deep and peaceful slumber; darkness surrounds me.
