I couldn't get away. I couldn't wake up. It hurt so much. No matter how much I cried he wouldn't stop.

"Jaime!"
I opened my eyes.
Doctor Walsh was there looking really concerned. There were two male nurses restraining me.
"Are you okay Jaime?" One of the nurses asked.
"Yeah, I'm okay now."
They both helped me up back into the chair.
"That will be all boys, thank you." Doctor Walsh said.
They left us alone...again.
"What happened?" I asked.
"After I had asked you to talk about your past, you started acting funny. You kept looking around the room and talking to yourself. Then you started screaming and saying 'no, please, no more'."
We silently stared at each other for a while.
"We'll stop our session for today."

I stood from the chair and walked to the door. I grabbed the shiny handle and gave a little turn. Although when I looked back up, I was back in my house looking at my mom's door. I remembered that no matter how many times I would turn the knob, it never opened. Only this time it did.

I step into the hall and shut the door behind me. The clock read 12:37. I was late for lunch. They had been trying to get me to eat more since I got here. But I've been managing to hide some and give it to someone else.
It was hard to eat, my mom never had money to buy food for the house. Instead she'd give it all to her boyfriends so they can pay for their drugs.
So I starved myself.
I wouldn't go a few days with out eating until I'd get to school. So I was used to getting the bare minimum.

The cafeteria was full already.
There were some drug addicts, some insane but all sick.

As I went to get my lunch the woman behind the counter had this mean look on her face as if everyone got on her nerve despite who it was.
"Enter your ID number." She said as she looked down at the key pad.

I looked at my ID card to find it, and saw my face. I looked dead. My arms were bleeding again and when I looked up I was in my bathroom. My reflection was staring back at me.
"Why couldn't you just do it?" It asked.
Then it started to scream "why couldn't you have put us out of our misery already?"

"Hey!"
I looked up and the woman with the mean look was there.
"Are you gonna type in your number?"
I ran my fingers over the key pad and slowly typed the numbers.
2-9-6-2-5-5

She looked at the screen and went back into the kitchen.
My head started to ache. I just wanted to sleep.

"There you go." She said as she handed me a plastic tray filled with food that I wasn't going to finish.
"Thank you."

I walked off and tried to find a place to sit. Every where was taken by people who looked like they wanted to kill me.
"Hey you, with the Nirvana tee on!" A quiet voice called out.
I looked around but I couldn't find the owner to the voice.
"Right here!" She said

When I looked, there was this young and beautiful girl with frizzy ginger hair. Her face was decorated with freckles of all shapes and sizes, her eyes lit up like a Christmas tree.
"Come sit with us, you're the new girl aren't you?"
I looked at all three. All of them different. One had short, bright pink hair while the other had dirty blonde hair that looked all ruffled and messy. She didn't show her face much.
"Yeah"
"Don't be shy!" The ginger moved a chair to the table and gestured for me to sit down. I slowly moved over and sat down in the spot.
The blondy was still hiding her face. Pinkey was admiring my plate of food.
"Do you want something?"
"Really!?" She asked
"Yeah, I never finish."

She smiled a big smile and took my juice box and the animal crackers.
"Thanks."
I kept looking at the blonde wondering why she was here and why she didn't show her face?
"I'm Kelsey by the way." The ginger said. "And that's Sam and Daisy."
So her name was Daisy. A little ironic if you asked me. I liked it.
"I'm Jaime."
"So what are you in for?" Sam asked me as she was chewing on some animal crackers.
"Attempted suicide."
She nodded her head continuing to chew.
"What about you guys?"
"Drugs." Sam replied
"Me too." Kelsey blurted out.
I glanced over at Daisy who still hid her face and didn't speak.

"Don't bother, she doesn't talk really. No one really knows why she's here but some say she tried to burn her entire family while they were asleep."
"Yeah she lets us sit with her, she's been here longer than most of us. I've heard that she went to an actual asylum, which is pretty cool in my opinion." Kelsey said with a smile.

I continued to admire Daisy, I wanted to know about her. Her life. Her past.

I looked at the clock, it read 1:16. It was time to go to Group. I ate the crust off my sandwich and the cheese, then I gave the rest to Sam.
"We've got to go, we'll see you later okay?" Kelsey said.
"Yeah."

As I was getting up out of my seat I looked back at Daisy, but this time, I saw her eye and a part of her face.
Her eye was light blue, almost supernatural. The side of her face was beautifully decorated with burn marks.

Some how I found her beautiful.
She slowly got up and flipped on her hood and walked away.
I liked her.
