Chapter ❷

Four POV

"Tris"

I look at everyone's dropped jaws. My face gets red.

"Ok... Tris Candor or Dauntless?"

"Huh? Oh Dauntless."

She's so cute, I think to myself.

"I dare you to go out with me."

She smiles. "Yes."

She looks over at Uriah who looks like he's going to cry. I have to admit, I would too if I lost Tris like that.

"We should all go to bed, it's getting late." Zeke offers.

"I'm gonna go back to my apartment. Tris, care to join me?" I ask.

She smiles and nods. I intertwine our fingers and we walk out hand in hand.

Tris looks back at a smiling Christina and laughs.

When we get to my apartment we sit on my bed and stay silent for a minute until Tris says,

"I thought you hated me?"

"Well.. I don't. You should change out of those clothes."

I throw her my sweater and she goes in the bathroom and changes.

She comes out and plops on the bed, resting her head on my chest. I stroke her blonde hair and wrap my arms around her.

We fall asleep arms wrapped around each other.

I finally realise, I'm in love with Tris Prior.

Tris POV

I wake up with Four's arms still wrapped around me.

I smile and kiss his nose as his eyes flutter open.

"Good morning beautiful." He says.

"Morning Four." I reply.

"From now on, call me Tobias when were alone." He smiles.

"Ok.. Tobias. I should go get my clothes. Then do you wanna get breakfast?" I say.

He nods and I walk to my apartment.

I walk inside and change my clothes.

I wear black leggings, a loose dark blue sweater, and combat boots.

I throw my hair up into a ponytail and walk to the cafeteria. Before I walk in, Uriah grabs my wrist and pulls me aside.

"Tris I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to hurt you. I love you more than anything in this world. I tried to stop bu-"

"Uriah. I just want to forget about it," I say, tear blurring my vision once again. "I've moved on with Four. You should move on too. Goodbye Uriah."

I walk into the cafeteria leaving Uriah dumbfounded. I find Tobias and sit next to him kissing his cheek.

Uriah walks in with a red face and taps Tobias on the shoulder. When he turns around, Uriah punches him in the jaw.

"That's for stealing my girlfriend."

Tobias wipes the blood from his lip and stands. He punches Uriah repeatedly and stops when Uriah passes out.

I gasp and kneel over Uriah. Instantly, I start crying, whispering for Uriah to come back.

I scream at Tobias,

"Look what you did! He could be dead!" I scream in between sobs.

Tobias plainly looks at me. The entire Dauntless faction is staring at us.

Zeke puts a hand on my should and says,

"Calm down. I'll take him to the infirmary."

Zeke picks up Uriah and carries him out.

I walk to my apartment with Tobias trailing behind me.

We walk in and sit in separate corners of the room.

"Tris I'm so sorry."

"Four. I can't believe you did that. You didn't need to knock him out. Just.. go home. I'm going to see him."

I walk out and go to the infirmary, leaving Tobias in my room.

I have a nurse escort me to Uriah's room and walk inside to see Zeke standing by Uriah.

Zeke looks at me and smiles sympathetically.

"The nurse said he'll be fine in a couple days." He says.

"I'll stay here. Go get some rest." I tell Zeke.

He nods and walks out.

I sit in the chair next to Uriah and hold his hand.

As I fall asleep, Uriah wakes up as Tobias walks into the door, a beer in hand with bloodshot eyes.
