Chapter eleven:

Recap:

I stared at her but could only see her lips moving. My vision became blurred and there looked like there were two Traceys smirking at me.

“What did you give me?” I slurred at the not so innocent nurse before my body slumped to the side.

The last thing I saw were two burly looking men step inside the room and shut the door before blackness took over.

Ergh, I have the biggest damn headache in the world. I definitely should buzz in the nurse for pain killers, it feels like my head is going to split open. Well, even more than it already is.

I open my eyes expecting to see the sterile hospital room but was instead greeted by a sleek office. What the f*ck?

“Ah, I see you’re awake Colt”

I froze. Oh sh*t, it can’t be?

I turn my head to the spot where the voice came from and my eyes narrowed.

It was the boss.

***

[Colt’s POV]

Anger filled my arteries and my blood bubbled through my veins. Why the hell was I here when I quit the gang. I quit! He knew that!

“Welcome Colt” the boss greeted me with a smile. I scoffed and glanced down at my limbs that were bound to the expensive chair with thick ropes.

“It doesn’t seem that welcoming, Tony” I gritted. My head was still a bit fuzzy from the pills Nurse Dodgy gave me. “Why the hell am I here?”

Tony, or Anthony to anyone who wasn’t on his good side, waved off his bodyguards and slowly stalked to his large backed leather chair behind his expensive mahogany desk. His black hair held streaks of grey above his ears and was slicked back in the cliché Italian mobster manner. He wore a slick black suit and he unbuttoned the buttons when he sat down. He reached for a cigar and offered one to me. I declined.

It was only after he’d lit and began puffing on the cigar that he spoke.

“You’ve been ignoring me Colt” he drawled out puffing out smoke. I hated the smell was used to it after the many years of following him.

“Actually I’ve been stuck on a deserted island. I think that gives me permission to ignore some phone calls considering my phone is probably in the capable fins of the fish in the ocean” I replied sarcastically.

Tony quirked his eyebrow, continuing to puff on his tobacco, and said –

“Really? Well that is news. Last I heard, I sent two men to… collect… you and as it turns out… they never returned”

Now it was my turn to be surprised.

What had Mina told me?

Well, uh after they shot you I guess they thought you were dead. They started shooting at the boat and the boxes caught fire then moved over to the emergency gas. Basically the boat blew up and I had to throw you out and jump out myself. We were already close to this island so I used the cooler to keep us afloat and swam over here. I bandaged you up and you were lucky the bullet went straight through.”’

She never mentioned what happened to the two thugs. I’d just assumed that they turned back around to report that we were blown up.

“Well from I heard they blew up my boat. I was unconscious but I figured they just turned around” I told Tony.
