Pen's POV:
I had just woken up and gotten out of bed. I must of slept on my back wrong because it hurt like hell. I looked at my clock and it read 8:00 am.
"8 o'clock!" I said out loud as I rushed to my closet.
My alarm probably malfunctioned and didn't go off. I grabbed a red flannel, probably dirty pants, and some sunglasses. I quickly put all that on and speed walked to the kitchen. Why didn't my mother wake me up either?
"Mom! I need to go to school!" I yelled in my mother's general direction while walking by her.
My little brother ran by me practically at the speed of light.
"I really don't need this today! Be right there honey!" my mother said while running past me.
I ran my hands through my hair and sighed. I guess I was going to be late today.I arrived a school and got my late slip. I slowly walked to science. It was only the second day of school and I already have a late day! I walked into science. Everyone glanced at me then looked away. I guess being late wasn't really a big problem here. I took a seat and everything in science was normal. The teacher was just talking and everyone wasn't paying attention like the first day. The bell rang and I was the first one out of the class room. I saw Rose walking to PE and I decided to join her.
"Oh, hey," Rose said.
"Hey," I muttered.
I really didn't like talking to Rose that much. She just really quiet. There was no conversation on the way to PE. I went into the locker room and again Rose dressed differently than the others. I usually am the first person to get dressed in the locker rooms so I waited for Rose. I was starting to walk toward her when a preppy girl walked past me and started taking to Rose. I decided to listen in on what she was saying.
"Oh, was your family too poor to buy the PE uniform? I feel bad for you," the girl pouted.
Rose just glared at her then grabbed her things.
"Leaving already? I didn't even get-" someone grabbed her shoulder.
"I wouldn't mess with her," a different girl warned her.
"Why?" the preppy girl asked with attitude.
"Just don't okay? Something might happen to you if you do," the other girl said quietly.
Rose walked away and I followed her.
"What's up with those people?" I asked her.
"I don't know and I don't care," Rose said blankly.
"Oh. Okay," I said.
I looked up at the sky and it was dark and gray. I felt a rain drop fall on my nose. It was probably going to rain today.PE was cut short because it started to thunder storm. I rushed to math and saw Grey waiting by the door with his backpack over his head. It was kind of funny. His face didn't really have any emotion though. It was just blank. I would think that he would have some sort of look on his face if it was raining. I walked up next to him.
"Hey Grey," I said to try and get his attention.
He grabbed an umbrella from a kids backpack while they were walking by. They didn't seem to notice. He opened it and looked at me.
"Hey Pen. How are you?" he asked me.
"Good. Why did you take that person's umbrella?" I asked him and tilted my head.
"Simple, I didn't have one," he said.
"So did you lose yours?" I asked.
"No. I broke it over a kids head," he said with no expression.
"You what?" I said surprised.
The teacher walked out and told everyone to hurry inside.
"Don't worry about it," Grey told me as we walked inside.
Math was fun. We didn't really learn anything which was nice. The first few days of school are always the best because there is no homework and no one really cares about anyone yet.I was late to art because I had to use the restroom first. I walked into class and sat next to Max.
"Hey," I smiled at her.
"Oh, hey," she said back.
"What are we doing in art today? Sorry I was late," I asked.
"Nothing I don't think. I wasn't paying attention," she laughed quietly.
I laughed with her. I guess no one really pays attention in this class. I looked over at Kingston. He was drawing on a white sheet of paper.
"Hey King, what are you drawing?" I asked.
"Just animals having a mid life crisis," he replied.
I looked over at his paper. He has drawn a turtle, a fish, a dog, and a panda. They all looked either sad or confused.
"Oh, okay," I said in a disturbed tone as I turned to Max again.
Art went quickly and we were sent off to lunch. I followed Max and Kingston back to the place were they would hang out.
Lunch was kinda weird, I mean everyone went in the cafeteria or the gym since the storm, but the group stayed outside like it was their job to protect this spot.
Nothing really happened at lunch, I didn't eat cause I didn't want my food to get all wet I can wait at least until I get home.
School went on normally no classes with the group.
It was after school, I had gotten a text from my mom saying she'll be a little later than usual today.. guess the office got busy..
I stood out in the rain.
Then I looked up because the rain drops had stopped.
Someone put an umbrella over me, I looked up at who it was, it was Grey
"Oh hi grey, thanks for the umbrella but I don't mind the rain." I stood up as grey closed the umbrella.
The rain had stopped a bit and I heard someone yelling at a guy then seen a guy get thrown to the ground.
"Get out of here skank!" King had yelled at the kid, "don't ever hit on my girl again or you're dead!"
Then Max got in front of him and wrapped her arms around his neck.
"Babe it's okay, calm down." She whispered softly in his ear.
He wrapped one of his arms around her waist.
"Maybe we can have us a little fun tonight after the "Big fun" he touched her lip softly.
"Big fun?" I tilted my head.
"Yea, wanna come?" Rose walked past us.
"Let us go." Grey smiled...
He had such good vocabulary when he wanted to unlike me when I can barely talk to my own self.
I got up and we had walked to a near by 7/11...
What where they planning to do..?
