She'll never walk away

It's been two days since the incident, and the bruises were just slightly fading away.

Today at work, Mark hadn't performed on stage, but instead, worked at the bar.

On the corner of Mark's eye, he could see his boss stepping out of the backroom and walking towards the bar.

He sat on one of the barstools, making Mark walk over to him to ask if he wanted something to drink.

His boss shook his head, not wanting to drink anything.

"I actually came here to talk to you," his boss told him in his usual rough voice.

Mark put down the glass that he was wiping.

"What's up," he asked, his full attention towards his boss.

"I just got this call, and someone offered to pay $1,100 for two good rounds of a fuck," his boss bluntly said.

Mark eyes widened.

"And why did you offer me this? What about the others," Mark asked curiously.

"Cause I know you've done t-."

"I'll think about it," Mark told his boss, quickly cutting him off before he could finish his sentence.

His boss nodded then left.

I don't think you understand

"We will be doing his surgery in a two days," the doctor told Mark as soon as they stepped out of Jackson's room.

"Already?" Mark asked surprisingly.

"Yes, we will be needing to do it immediately if you want him to live," the doctor said seriously.

Mark's heart broke.

If you want him to live.

No shit Mark wanted Jackson to live, he was the love of his life.

"Do you have an idea how much the surgery will cost?" Mark asked sadly.

"About $4,570," the doctor revealed.

Mark's heart sank to the pit of his stomach.

"Is it alright if I pay about $2,400 cash, then slowly pay it after the surgery?"

"That's alright."

And with those words, Mark rushed out of the hospital and drove to his work as fast as he could.
