Arnav was stumped. He has done it again. He has blamed Khushi again for no fault of her. He has once again taken Khushi for granted. But not anymore. He has wronged Khushi way too many times. Khushi will get the place she deserved in his life. He will restore her respect that she has lost in the eyes of his family members for his own foolishness. It was time he came out clean.

...................................

"Yes Khushi. Maybe you are right. Maybe deep down I didn't completely trust you with Di. But that doesn't mean I hold you responsible for whatever has happened. Trust me when I say this Khushi, you might have forgiven me for the nasty words I have hurled at you that night but I couldn't forgive myself for that and I never will. I don't regret marrying you the way I did because that marriage brought us together. But I regret blaming you that night. I was not myself. In my anger I have said things I didn't mean, I didn't believe."

Arnav walked up to Khushi and held her hands in his. His looked directly into her eyes making it impossible for Khushi shift her eyes from his.

"Khushi it's your heart that takes decisions for you. It's big enough to forgive anyone, to trust anyone. Your heart has forgiven me many times and today it was going to forgive that Shyam too. I could not risk your safety once again. I have done that before unknowingly but I can't do this now when I know a person like Shyam can never change. I cannot trust him. I admit the words I have used today were wrong. But I never meant to blame you. I would rather die than accuse you again."

"Arnaviji no.." Khushi gasped covering his mouth with her palm shaking her head in negation.

"But that's the truth Khushi. Please tell me that you understand. Please tell me that I am forgiven for unknowingly hurting you again. I can live with anything but can't live knowing that you are hurt. I didn't mean to hurt you Khushi. Not today, not ever. You know that Khushi, don't you?" Arnav pleaded Khushi with his vulnerable eyes as if his life depended on her reply.

Arnav is a complex man and no one knew it better than Khushi. She knew whatever Arnav said was the truth. Arnav was nothing if not honest. He has hurt her many times but every hurt of hers has hurt him equally if not more. Khushi understood this complex man this time too. She squeezed Arnav's hands and nodded her head letting him know that he was forgiven and that she will always be with him. Khushi's gesture strengthened Arnav's resolve some more to set things right. She deserved better and he will make sure that she gets what she deserved.

"Khushi, I was only thinking about my Di that day and I was only thinking about my Di today. She has always been my priority. When it came to her, I didn't see anything or anyone. Her happiness was all that mattered to me. Everything else was secondary. Even you Khushi, even you, my happiness came after my Di's wellbeing."

"I thought I knew my Di. I knew what is best for her. I believed that whether anyone understands me or not my Di will. See Khushi, how wrong I was." Arnav laughed a sardonic laugh.

Khushi was heartbroken to see the man she loves, so broken, so defeated.

"I have taken you for granted for too long Khushi. I didn't understand your true worth till now. Always thinking, where will Khushi Kumari Gupta go leaving the mighty Arnav Singh Raizada? If she goes I'll bring her back. She doesn't need my attention. She is fine the way she is. My Di is fragile. She needs me more than Khushi does. Think about Di."

"I was a fool, wasn't I?" Arnav asked a rhetorical question.

"I want your permission Khushi. Let me tell everyone everything. We have kept enough secrets. Without knowing a single thing they are throwing mud at you and I am responsible for this. I shouldn't have hidden the truth from them. Till today I was quiet because you didn't want to hurt them by revealing the truth. But Khushi I can't be silent anymore. I need to let it out for my own sanity. Let me clear all misconceptions they have about you. Maybe in this way I can redeem myself a little in my eyes."
