He's bright, bubbly and a little bit goofy. He’s basically born to be a superstar, who will be remembered for pretty much forever.He gives every single performance 100% of his dedication and energy, which is hugely obvious when you can see the veins on his neck straining as he reaches the perfect notes.
His voice is the perfect pop voice, as well as being capable of reaching a beautiful falsetto. However, he can also bring in a hint of huskiness which is what makes his voice distinguishable and special (and personally, my favourite voice in terms of tone in the group). Although he is not one of the stand-out dancers in the group, Baekhyun practically never falters.
He always presents the right image to the camera, smiling at it when it’s time to be charming, or gazing at it intently when it comes to the more serious songs. His personality shines in every single interview, variety show and TV appearance. Basically, Baekhyun is the definition of charming and loveable. The boy is always confident and witty, and tackles every problem and embarrassment with a great attitude. He’s got the kind of personality that instantly makes watching him on TV so enjoyable, and he definitely knows what to give the fans.
Despite Baekhyunnie’s gorgeous flower boy appearance, he doesn’t take himself too seriously and regularly reminds us that he’s just a simple fun-loving guy with all this goofiness. He really doesn’t seem self-conscious about exposing his dorky side, and will act out for everybody’s entertainment, meaning that he definitely earns the title of ‘mood-maker’. He’s always cracking witty jokes with his accomplices, Chen and Chanyeol. Sometimes, Baekhyun goes a little bit too far with his jokes, perhaps hitting a sensitive spot with some of the members without realising. Some people try to use this as proof of Baekhyun basically being a douchebag, but I don’t really think this is the case. Yes, he can be insensitive and immature. For example, we’re all aware that Tao and Lay have pretty strong accents, so Baekhyun’s constant teasing of their accents gets pretty old, pretty quickly. But I definitely don’t believe that he does this to deliberately hurt people. Boys will be boys, and the affection that both Tao and Lay continue to show to Baekhyun proves that there’s no bad blood between them. When Baekhyun teases D.O, he’s aware that he’ll be punished by Soo as well, so it’s not like Baekhyun is someone who is good at dishing out playful insults but doesn’t accept any responsibility for them later on.
Beneath all this is an extremely affectionate and surprisingly considerate young man. This was one of my favourite moments of his, when Baekhyun went out of his ways to buy treats for his members. He also seems to feel that he somehow doesn’t deserve as much credit for EXO’s success as some of the other members due to his short trainee period, showing his humble side. (This is why him and Chen always fight back the tears when EXO receive awards) Predebut accounts from people who knew Baekhyun say that he would make friends with absolutely everybody and never discriminated based on cliques or any of that nonsense. This goes to show what a sweetheart Baekhyunnie really is, and how he just wants to have a whole lot of fun in life.
