Day 2: 10:00 AM
The day went by slowly. I sat alone in the living room. I reached for my phone that rang.
"Hey G" I said as I accepted the call.
"Hey Blade, how are you doing?"
"I'm doing okay. I have... business to attend to in a while and i'm scared because I may die horrifically, but other than that, I'm okay." I responded.
"You always get yourself into these problems. You gotta be safe sometimes, Blade. I'm worried about you. Can you come see me today? I haven't seen you in forever."
"Don't be worried, I'll try and see if I can meet you, I love you." I said.
I heard him sigh at the other end of the call. "Okay, I love you too."
He ended the call and I heard footsteps behind me as I put away my phone.
"Thanks for scaring me shitless yesterday" Brian said, sitting down on the couch.
"Calm your tits, the thermite wouldn't effect you, it's not fired up" I said.
We sat together playing Mario Kart, even though I lost terribly, it was fun. Delirious and Ohm joined in on us.
"Hey" Delirious smiled as he grabbed the controller from my hand. His hand brushed mine and I pulled away.
He laughed back. "You're cute when you get flustered."
I saw Ohm stare at us and he didn't look too happy, I guess he had a bad day.
"I am not. I'm not cute, I'm the meanest person to ever live and you need to fear me." I said to Delirious.
"Aw, you're adorable." He said grabbing my face.
"Bite me." I jokingly threatened.
Delirious laughed and sat next to Brian playing the game.
"Hey, you still owe me $600" I reminded Ohm.
Ohm looked back at me. "Do I now? I can make it up to you in any way. Plus, you don't look like you need $600." I felt his eyes on me.
I looked back up to see him smirking.
"Well..." I sat up to face him, we were inches away from each other. I look back at Delirious and Brian still caught up on the game. I look at Ohm to see his cheeks completely red. I had a strange urge to...lean in. But I fought it. "I'll take the 600" I whispered. Ohm backed up with one eyebrow raised and him smiling.
"Come and get it" He pulled out the notes from his pocket and counted 600.
I went to grab the money but he snatched it away and leaned in towards me where I felt his lips on mine. I felt him smile and he pulled away.
"There you are" He smiled, handing me $600.
My face tingled and I fought back a smile as I hesitantly took the money.
I got up and walked up the stairs to stop at Evans room. I knocked and soon enough, the door opened.
"Hey Ace, what's up" He smiled.
"Could I go see one of my friends? I don't care if I have a chaperone or whatever."
"You can go alone" He said.
"What? You trust me enough to go alone?"
"No, I had Tyler, Craig, and Droidd get all your weapons from your house, and we have your keys to your car, and your car. So even if you did run away from us, you'd have nothing to protect yourself with." Evan casually walked back to his desk.
"You broke into my house?" I yelled.
"Well, I didn't." He laughed, continuing his work on his laptop.
"Whatever. I'm going." I threw my hands up and exited.
I opened up my phone to text G.
_____
Meet me at our old hangout.
You can come?
Yes, hurry, it's raining a lot.
Okay, okay. Give me 10 minutes.
_____
I lifted my hood up on my head. I waited in the rain for G. It's been about 8 minutes until his car pulled up. I got in his car and he pulled me into a hug.
"You're so wet" he said.
We looked at each other for a second and then laughed at the innuendo.
"Here, change into this." He offered me his hoodie and I wore it. Taking in the warmth.
I looked at the back of his car and saw a small black backpack.
"What's in that?" I asked cheerfully.
He looked back and I saw a slight frown on his face. He looked back up to me and held my hands.
"Don't worry about it" He smiled.
"We loved this hangout, didn't we?" He asked staring up from his windshield.
"Yeah, I wonder why. It was just our old 'gang' meet up place."
He ran his hand through his light brown hair. It was a chilly day and the hoodie wasn't enough. I started shivering to the point where it was noticeable. G pulled me into a hug and we cuddled in his car.
"I missed this. I missed when we didn't have to worry about anything. When we were just kids on the streets and we stuck by each other no matter what."
"When you accidentally ate a part of a couch when you were sleep walking." I laughed.
"You do realize we went almost 10 years without mentioning that." He replied.
G looked down at me and held me tighter while kissing my forehead. The rain continued pouring on down. The drops on the window were an escape from formalities, they were more full of life.
