"Girlfriend? girlfriend?? you're serio-"

"hell yeah, we go way back." Nate smirked. I scoffed, slipping out of the couch.

"Woah wait here are you going?!-"

"Oh yeah well you see I've got school tomorrow so-" I said in a mumble, rushing out of the house.

I rushed down the front porch, mumbling the word "girlfriend" under my breath over and over.

My shoulder slammed into another, heating the voice yell "HEY WATCH IT BUDDY!"

"Sorry." I whispered.

It was her, Eleanor.
She stood there with a cigarette in her lips. Staring at me as if I was from another planet.

"Smoking kills." I said.

"Smoking can't kill what's already dead." She snarked back.

"Have fun sleeping with nate, heard he's got a small penis!" I yelled after her, jumping into my car and driving away.

My knuckles swept against the wooden door, biting my lip as I tapped my foot.

"And there she is." Nate smiled,  engulfing me into a big hug. My hands lightly tangled around his neck, pulling him closer.

"Has Lincoln been kind to you?" He whispered into my ear, pressing his lips lightly against it.

"Oh yes." I smiled.

His fingers intertwined with mine, pulling me into the house.

"it hasn't been the same here without you." he mumbled.

i admired his large mansion like house, all so familiar.

a couple boys roamed the house, holding bottles of alcohol or speakers.

"A Sunday night party huh?" i turned to him seeing as he smiled. Nate called out for one boy,

taking the bottle of vodka from his hand.

"celebration i suppose? i knew my girl was coming back, i has to celebrate."

i sighed, biting my lip.

"c'mon, lets go up to my room yeah?"

"rather not, there was always a draft in there." i shivered lightly, holding my shoulders.

"right....so, tell me about those markings-"

"MATTY!" i  called out, hearing someone yell back.

"IS THAT WHO I THINK IT IS?" i watched Matthew emerge from the basement.

"PUMPKIN!" he yelled, engulfing me into a tight hug.

"and there it is." i smiled. he shrugged, "i told you it would stick."

seventh grade, when we were all here, we had a pumpkin carving contest.

accidentally the open pumpkin dropped on my head, and from that day  on, after Matthew found me, i would be known as "pumpkin"

"it hasn't been the same without you." he pinched my chin, as i smiled.

"woah what happened?"

"nothing important alright? don't worry." i whispered.

he nodded, smiling once more.

"thanks for the reunion but i've got a party to set up for." Matthew said, grabbing the bottle of vodka.

"HEY!" Nate yelled, stomping his foot as i laughed.

"BYE MATTY!"

"PLEASURE PUMPKIN!"

The party began at around eleven. i didn't know of anyone but Nate and Matty, so i only stuck around the two.

"drink?" Nate asked, handing me a red solo cup.

i pushed it away to his chest.

"i don't drink." he scoffed, slightly laughing.

"oh hell no, what did Lincoln do to you? you used to be such a party animal."

"yeah right. i don't recall."

"eighth grade, my first ever party with alcohol, you and I drank so much that we roamed the streets naked-"

i winced.

"and as i nearly forget, it only comes back." he chuckled.

"i really missed this."

"yeah...me too." he placed the cup on a table, the closets one, moving towards you.

"i've been wanting to do this all night." he said as his hands pressed to my waist.

"Nate . . ." i began as his lips stopped me.

Nate's kissed me before. a thousand times before.

But this time it only felt different.

i kissed him back after a doubtful second, tugging on his bottom lip lightly.

Nate moaned, dragging his lips down my jawline.

i felt a sharp pain against my neck, wincing loudly.

my head pulled back, close against the wall. he began to suck on my neck, and i could already feel the hickey's forming.

my eyes shut for nearly a second, opening to a pair of bright hazel ones.

they stared deeply into my green one's, seeing right through me.

i had never felt so empty, so predictable.

i bit my lip, continuing to stare at the beautiful human whom slowly looked away.

i could see it in his eyes, the disappointment.

maybe I should've been focusing on Nate, but i knew him, i've seen him.

"NATE!" a voice called out.

Nate groaned against my neck, pulling away with the soft peck of my lips.

"wait here?"

i nodded, feeling him open my palm, before slipping away.

i sighed, seeing it was a blunt.

i waited for his back to turn, before slipping away myself.
