Disclaimer: I honestly haven't even read this far into this series at all, I'm doing a LOT of research just for this fanfiction and hope you don't mind if I get a few things incorrect.

Luke Castellan lay crumpled on the ground, blood blooming underneath him, shaking violently.

Perseus Jackson hadn't the slightest idea what to do for his former best friend and, more recently, former enemy. So he just dashed over to his body and hovered over him, looking at him with a worried glint in his sea green eyes.

"Percy..." Luke said, turning to face him.

The first thing Percy noticed when he saw Luke's face was the unnaturally pale skin tone. He was losing blood. Very quickly. The second thing he noticed was that his eyes were his normal, beautiful, icy blue. Not gold like they were when Kronos had taken over. The third thing he noticed was the guilt that washed over his face. Luke's eyes were considerably shiny, as if he was about to burst into tears.

"Percy- I am so sorry..." Luke started, one pale hand on Percy's shoulder.

Percy's first instinct was to shake his hand off, but he grabbed Luke's paling hand and held it, smiling softly. "You did it." He said. "You defeated Kronos. You saved the world." Percy was not just saying this to make the dying demigod comfortable in his final moments, he meant it.

Luke had stabbed himself in his weak spot when Kronos had taken control of his body, sacrificing himself for the sake of winning the war.

Percy could have sworn he had seen the faintest smile on his face. "Want to know why I did it? Other than to save everyone, of course." Luke said, taking a deep breath.

Percy only nodded, chewing on his bottom lip anxiously.

"Come closer." Luke said in a gravelly whisper.

So he did. Percy inched closer, their faces only centimeters apart. It was odd how Percy had recognized the scent of death, yet was still taken off guard by the way Luke's gaze seemed to move Percy, even as he was so close to dying.

"Luke-" Percy began, but was cut off when the distance between the two boys' lips closed, with Luke visibly using force to lift his face up to kiss Percy.

Percy didn't kiss back, his eyes widened in shock, but the taste of burnt sugar was overpowering, and eventually he kissed back, cupping Luke's cheek gently.

When they broke off, Luke was smiling sadly. "That's why." He whispered. "I love you, Percy Jackson." Luke said, before his head fell back to the ground, his blue eyes rolling back.

Percy shook his head furiously. Luke Castellan was in love with him? And never told him until his last seconds of life? If Percy knew Luke actually cared, he could have helped, done something-

Percy hadn't even realized the tears streaming down his face until he felt Annabeth pull him for a hug, whispering comforting words to the now shaking boy.

After that, the Gods had come to do whatever it was Gods did after wars, and Percy carefully wept under the covers of his bed, only whispering one word.

No, one name.

"Luke..."
