Luke stared at Percy for a while, an unspoken conversation passed between them. Percy seemed to read Luke like a book, and he came forward and sat beside Luke.
"Hey- don't cry. What's wrong?" Percy said soothingly. This was the first time he heard Percy's voice since he died, and he loved the sound of it.
Luke glanced down. "I- I can't do this." Luke shook his head, locks of blonde hair tumbling into his blue eyes.
Percy looked at him worriedly. "Can't do what?"
Luke looked him right in the eyes. "Live. I can't handle living like this, Percy. Not after what I did."
Percy shook his head furiously. "No. Luke- please don't do anything bad to yourself. I brought you back for a reason." Percy's heavy gaze shook Luke to the bone. The level of intensity in his voice would naturally scare anyone, but instead Luke broke down into tears and sobbed into Percy's chest.
Percy sat beside Luke, rubbing his back comfortingly, whispering into his ear things like. "It's okay, it's okay to cry." And, "You'll be alright. I swear on the River Styx."
It was quite shocking to see someone like Luke Castellan, a hero who saved the world, the strongest boy Percy had ever met, cry.
It was also quite shocking to see this side of the son of Hermes.
Percy laid down on the bed, pulling Luke beside him, staring into his bright blue eyes. Luke had stopped crying, and was now holding onto Percy tightly.
"I'm sorry, Luke. I'm so sorry." Percy whispered. "I didn't go near you because I was scared- I thought you would think I was obsessive- or, I don't know. I was just scared." Percy pushed a little bit of Luke's hair out of his eyes, smiling softly.
The next thing that happened was more of a blur of emotions.
The staring between each boy was too much for Percy, so he crashed his lips to Luke's pulling him closer.
Luke kissed back almost immediately, one hand tangled in Percy's hair.
Percy smiled against Luke's lips, pulling away. "That was why I brought you back, Luke Castellan. I brought you back because I, in fact, love you too."
A/N: This would have been a good spot to end it but I think I'll just switch to Luke's perspective real quick and see what I can do.
Luke and Percy had stayed in his bed, smiling at each other, ignoring at stares of Luke's cabin mates. They decided, unanimously, that they would officially become boyfriends.
Percy held Luke that night, playing with his sandy blonde hair and telling him that everything would be fine.
And Luke believed him.
