Chapter 2 - Encounter

*Alex Hunter*

I heard the footsteps fade away from the door, as I let out the breath I was holding. I raised my hand and weaved it through my hair.

Where am I? The darkness engulfed the whole room, my eyes were straining to make out an image. One beam of light shone from the wall and lit up like a dark night with one only star in the sky. I slowly walked over then grabbed the cloth curtains and pulled. The dust rolled down like rain. The light flooded the room making it possible to see.

This place was covered in think layers dust and coils of thread. All the colours of the thread brightened up the room and gave it a feel of phosphorescence. This was an old clothes factory. It must of been out of business for years. To think how many jobs would have been lost for the people.

I continued to explore I do not know what it was but this place was so fasinating. I walked up the staircase that was just about falling to pieces with everystep there was a sharp crack, threatening to collapse.

I cannot believe my father is forcing me to get married, he has already planned me to take over his business and now my whole life is planned out. Even though I dont want this life I was very disrepectful to my father earlier on today and clarisse. I did not ever get to know her and I judged her. What kind of a man must I look like. It was not the way my father taught me I must apologise to both of them.

I stood up admitting defeat, then headed for the door.

"Hello, do you know this place is out of bounds?" a voice in the darkness said.

"I ... I had no idea, I apologise. Excuse me" I put my head down in shame as I walked towards the door. As I reached for the door handle and opened it a fraction. The stranger placed their palm on the door and pushed, the bang reverberated through the whole building and dust rained down.

"Please, don't leave I am not a man of the law of anything like that" I moved my head to meet her eyes. Her beautiful emerald green eyes, I could not keep my eyes off them.

"I ...I" I stuttered.

"Are you always this quiet?" she smiled.

"Oh, sorry no. You just startled me" I laughed.

"Got somewhere you need to be in your crisp new tux?" She smiled while smartening my suit out. Then she flicked my tie.

"No, not exactly" I looked around nervously. I have no idea how to act.

"You are not from around here are you, this part of town I mean?" she raised an eyebrow. Examining me up and down.

"Is it that obvious" I laughed and she did too. She was not part of this village, the dress she was wearing was well designed and elegant. "I can see you are not too"

"You caught me, I go for frequent walks and this place is very peaceful and I like it here" she was not speaking elegant. She actually sounds common but not in a bad way. She was fun and good company to be around. "My name is rashel, how about you pretty boy?"

I gulped as I felt my cheeks begin to heat up. "Alexander Hunter, ma'am" An amused smile plastered her lips.

"Alexander Hunter, eh? Can I call you Alex?" she looked up. As I moved my eyes off from her chest. She looked at me with an amused smile, I coughed. I cannot believe I just did that.

"Sure" I cleared my throat, there was a brief silence between us.

"So, Alex. You had somewhere you needed to be" as she opened the door, then a warm breeze rolled in. Causing her long, wavy amber hair sway.
