Perfect Strangers (Nicholas McDonald)

Chapter 2

I just woke up, I could hear beeping, that's when I knew I was in hospital. My throat was really sore, but not because it was dry. I could also taste blood, making me feel sick. I opened my eyes and saw mum sat on the chair next to the bed. I sat up.

'Mum, what happened?' I mouthed. I put my hand on my throat. 'My voice' I squeaked. 'I can't speak!' I squeaked again. She caught on and she began to explain

'Baby, you collapsed in music Aimee thinks it was something to do with a girl called Veronica' she told me. I nodded then processed what she said

'Veronica!?' I squeaked very high pitched

'Try not to talk' she said 'the doctor said you swallowed an acid. And then Aimee said Veronica was hovering over your water in science, the police are questioning your science class and Veronica' I nodded

Veronica's pov

The police were questioning everyone in my science class. I don't know why the police would get involved, I mean it's not like anyone would try and kill her. Actually I tell a lie, I did... I've been trying to get her, ever since she stole Some of my friends off me.

'Veronica' one of the police officers said, I stood up and followed her into a room, it was dark and there was a bright light shining. It made it more interrogating. 'We understand that you and Emma have conflict, am I right!' She asked. I nodded. 'Well, why don't you explain how it all started?'

'She came to my school in April, and because her mums famous, she thinks she owns the school! It's not on. All my friends wanted to be with the famous mums daughter, they left me so I had to go find new friends.' I explained she nodded.

'Okay, so would you try and hurt her, to get your friends back'

'Well yes I would, but not kill her, I'd maybe say a few things to her but not anything like that'

'Okay well, from the sounds of that answer, and what witnesses of you science class say-' I cut her off

'What did they say?'

'They saw you hovering over her drink, and the hospital say Emma had drunk some sort of acid mixed with water. The science teacher said that she did in fact have water on her desk'

'Oh you cannot be serious? So what if I did do it, it didn't work, she didn't die did she?'

'Veronica Grayner, I'm arresting you on suspicion of attempted murder for Emma Scherzinger' she said. The officer at the door came up to me and handcuffed my hands.

'But- I didn't do it!' I shouted lying. They lead me out. I saw everyone in the assembly hall staring at me.

Emma's pov

A few weeks later. It was bootcamp. I'd been back to school and found that Veronica had been arrested. They want me at court on the 25th of August, but that's when mum goes to Antigua for X Factor and she said I could go with her, so they moved the court date to 19th August. Today was the 15th of August so 4 days to go and 9 days until Antigua. I start year 10 in September!

Anyway, back to now, it's bootcamp everyone's found out their category, mum had the girls, Louis had the Boys, Gary had the groups and Sharon had the overs. There was some serious competition this year.

Today means I get to see Nicky again. Yay! Everyone's staying at the hilton opposite wembley. It's really fancy.

'Nickyyyyyyyy!' I shouted running up to him in slow motion.

'Emmaaaaaa! He shouted doing the same. Then we got to eachother and gave eachother a hug.

'Hows you?'

'Good, and you? I see your voice is back! I read about it in the papers. What happened to the girl who did it to you'

'Im good and yeah it back! And I'm not sure yet, I go to court in 4 days and then yeah' I said.

'And then yeah' he said mocking me

'I always end sentences with that, but only if I don't know how to end them!' I said laughing.

'Ive got to go practice now with my temporary group, you free tonight'

'Yeah'

'Wanna come nandos with Me, I'll introduce you to everyone'

'Okay, what's your number?' I asked he gave me his number and I give him mine

'Be here at 7'

'Okay!' I said and gave him a hug then he went and I went over to stand by mum and the other judges.

'You and Nicky hitting things off then?' Sharon said. I blushed

'Aw my baby has a crush' mum teased wrapping her arm around me.

It got to 7 o'clock, today I was helping Caroline and Matt on the xtra factor, it was fun.

'Mum I'm going now' I said tying the lace of my converse

'Okay, have fun' she said. I walked out the hotel and waited outside wembley arena. I spotted Nicky coming out laughing with about 10 other people.

'Hey' I said.

'Hey!' They all said. We got to nandos and we sat down everyone told me their names

'Im Tamera'

'Im Hannah'

'Im Nicky, but you already know that' he said laughing.

'Im Lydia'

'Im Luke'

'Im Sam'

'Giles'

'Im Kaz'

'Im sterling'

'Im Joey' they finished off

'Oh my god! I know you three from last year!' I said getting excited

'Oh yeah! I remember you, you were what? 13 last year?' Joey said

'Yeah!' I said

'Night' I said to everyone as we went upstairs to our rooms

'Night' they all said back. I had a great night! We all had a laugh!

That's all I can do for now!
