Sleepless Nights

Into the vast lands of eerie silence
Antsy, I await the gloom to end
Acquainted to the never ending cycle
Before it's late, eyelashes must bend.
Long before the traitoress sneaked,
Hours bygone, blankness persists
Scared of drowning, I gasp for breath
Creeps in dread, for anxiety exists.

Crushed beneath the heavy weights
Wishes to be engulfed into the black
Away from the chaos and wail,
It craves to slip into the blue's slack
Slowly it fades, even the inner scream
Eventually cradling me in a dream.
