Chapter 24 - Fading
I woke up early and got changed quickly to go to the hospital; this would be the last round I had if everything went to plan before I needed surgery. Just thinking about it made petrified; it was the thought of being put to sleep and not knowing what would happen that scared me the most.
After the usual journey with my mum driving to the hospital and the boys accompany me – I’d said they didn’t have to come but they insisted- we arrived at the hospital just in time for my appointment. I hadn’t been back since Josie had lost her life and the thoughts still haunted me slightly.
We checked in and waited for Dr Holt to arrive; before they started any chemo they had to run a few tests to see how much of the tumour had shrunk and if treatment had any effect. Annoyingly, for me it meant I had to go through another blood test then a half hour wait for the results, although I did have the boys to keep me company.
“Daisy, how are you?” Dr Holt asked smiling as he walked into the room. I nodded and gave him the thumbs up as he got out the needle for the blood test, Harry gripped my hand as he did it which helped slightly, the others all turned away not liking the sight very much – although I couldn’t blame them!
“All done, I’ll be back in half an hour with your results” he said and left. My mum and Niall walked out him although I was pretty sure they were going down to the café to get everyone a hot chocolate!
“You were great, you won’t have to have many more of those” Harry said reassuringly as I got over the test; it still made me feel nauseous.
“Can we play eye spy flower?” Louis asked perking up in his seat and looking at everyone for an answer. Liam just rolled his eyes, Zayn was texting on his phone not paying any attention and Harry was just sat next to me, I’m not really sure what he was doing.
“If we must” I said and Louis exclaimed with joy, he really is more like a five year old then twenty – or twenteen as he likes to call it!
“Eye spy with my little eye something beginning with ‘J’” Louis said smirking in satisfaction. I looked around the room as the others fired some answers at him but none were right.
“Jelly”
“Jar”
“Jumper” half the things they said weren’t even in the room! I looked at the table next to me and raised my eyebrow figuring out what I’d seen Louis looking at earlier.
“Jug” I said looking at him. He pouted before nodding and I grinned happy; I’d beat the others. Before I could say mine, Niall and my mum walked in carrying a tray of cups each, Niall handed me mine and I took a sip before realizing just how hot the hot chocolate actually was, the others being more careful put there’s down to cool- I followed suit shortly after!
“Eye spy with my little eye something beginning with... ‘C’” I had eyed the clipboard on the end of the hospital bed although looked in completely the wrong direction in case they were looking at me.
“Carpet”
“CARROT!”
“Cup”
“Nope, and Louis not even close” I said, I should’ve known he would have said that!
“I know what it is” Harry said smugly wrapping his arms around me, I looked at him and waited for him to say what it was.
“Cutehotmajorlyflirtyboyfriend” Harry said smirking, I hit him on the chest as the others laughed, I couldn’t help but join them too.
“Not really, its clipboard” Harry continued with the same smirk, his dimples were showing as his mouth pulled up into a grin.
“How did you get it?” I asked raising my eyebrows
