~Chapter Three: Journey(PI)~

~Collette's P.O.V~

"I've completed my packing, Father!" I yelled through the house to Father. I picked up my bags, one in each hand, and started towards the stairs.

"Good, good. I will be up in a moment to take them." Father said, walking up the stairs.

I put on a triumphant smile as he passed me in the hallway. He looked completely flabbergasted.

"C-Collette! What are you doing carrying those bags down? It's-"

"Not Ladylike." I completed his sentence with a sigh. "Father, nothing I do is ladylike in your, nor the towns, eyes."

Father swallowed a lump in his throat. "Yes, well. I suppose that is true in some circumstances. But that's not the point, Collette!"

I sighed. "Here." I handed Father the bags. He looked confused.

"You said it's unladylike for a women to carry her bags." He shook his head and smiled. "Collette, I said no such thing."

"But you just-" I started but Father put his hand up to stop me.

"You only inferred that I would say it because everyone in the town does. I wanted to say, that it was very independent of you. You are a very independent and self conscious girl, Collette. No doubt you get it from your Mother. She would be so proud of you. Very proud indeed."

I stared at Father for a while. I felt tears stinging at my eyes, begging for release. A release that I gave to them almost immediately.

Father's face filled with concern. "Are you alright, Colly?" I walked up and hugged Father. He hugged back instantly.

"I love you, Collette." Father whispered into my ear. "I love you, Father." I whispered into his ear, still crying.

After I had cleaned up my tears, I walked out of the bathroom to see that my bags were still on the floor. I smiled and picked them up.

I carried them out the door and placed them gently into the cart. You

"Are you ready to leave, Collette?" I heard Father ask from the front of the cart.

I sat next to him and replied, "Never been more."
