I felt everyone's gazes on me as I entered the school.
I wished I didn't look odd with my hair to my shoulders. After all, I've always had short hair. And besides, Yoongi wanted me to..
I felt myself blush at the thought and made my way to my locker.
"Ayumi." At first, I thought it was someone calling me-- until I started hearing continuous whispers after that. "I don't know if it's true, her relation with Minjun, but-" their voices faded.
How did they know?
I opened my locker, grabbing the necessary items of the day. Would Minjun actually be that low to spread such information? I didn't look at anyone as I sat on one of the benches, waiting for the school bell to ring.
"Hello!" a familiar girl skipped over and sat beside me, along with two more friends. "Ayumi, right? Say.. let's keep it between us.. is it really true that your Minjun's half-sister?"
Just.. how?
I blinked a few times, and I found myself nodding. She giggled and patted my head, "Wah. No wonder you're so cute. Don't tell anyone, I've liked him for so long now. And if you would like, can you pretty please match me up with him?"
How could I when I barely knew both of them?
"Oi." Namjoon's deep voice interrupted. The girls stood up, and beside him was Eri. She smiled and waved as the girls walked away. "What were they up to, Aya?"
I nodded and quickly pulled out my sketchpad: 'I don't know.'
Because I honestly didn't.
"Well, they're obviously up to no good shit." Eri rolled her eyes. She was so pretty. Her hair was long and brown, curled at the ends. She had good style. Namjoon was classy, too. "Why even like Minjun? I hate him."
"At least they were nice about it." Namjoon pointed out. "But why would they even talk to you about Minjun?"
Should I tell them?
I looked around, seeing if anybody else were close. They reassured me the privacy and I started writing. Thank god I didn't have a messy penmanship, since I always had to write things down.
After I explained everything, they got it right away.
"Related to..Minjun?" Namjoon muttered. "Not to be nosy... but how?"
I started explaining my father's appearance, my relation with my own doctor, and how everything links to my mother.. I tried to leave out why I was in the doctor, and the illness.
"That sucks, being related to the jerk." Eri scoffed. Namjoon flashed her an unamused look and placed a hand on my shoulder. "Aya, don't let it bug you. The more you show that you actually care, the more they will do it. It's none of their business. They shouldn't even be doing this."
"Who would do it?" Eri crossed her arms. "You explained that no one but Minjun and his family was there. Would he actually be so low to tell it to his friends? To what, mess with you?"
Now that I think about it.. he really hated me.. didn't he?
"You're like my own daughter," Doctor Yang had said. The look in his eyes when his own mother said that.. could it be, that he's..
Jealous?
I quickly typed it in, 'He doesn't really like me.. but I don't think I can do anything with that. I'll be fine!'
Namjoon's brows furrowed, "Alright. We'll be off. If you need anything, or if anyone's being impertinent with you, me and Eri are just here."
"Really, I can shut them up whenever you want me to." Eri reassured. I felt myself smile as they walked away, waving goodbye.
