It seems as though solving my own murder is much harder than I would have thought. I immediately assumed that it was just check this, observe that, and interrogate and point the finger, but it's so. Much. Harder.

Maybe I just need to stop looking, and start listening.

Luckily, everyone is in the lounge, so it should make everything a little bit--oh no...

"Hardy, just calm dow--"
"This isn't about you Meraline. This is Theo's fault. All of it!"

I might have forgotten to mention it, but Theoden is my brother. He's never really been the closest to me, but he was one of the first in line for a large inheritance in the case of my death. Him and Hardy haven't always really...connected well.

"What have I done, Hardy? I know that my relationship with River wasn't the best, but we're adults! Can't we stop blaming each other and talk about this?"
"No we can't, especially when you were the one in the kitchen before she died."

Now that was unexpected.

"And not only that, but you would have gotten a lot of money when she died!"
"I didn't even know that until her will was read! Hell, I have so much that I don't even need it! And besides, you were in the kitchen with me!"

And so was that.

"But if you want the money so badly, and care so little about her, then why don't you just take it and leave everyone else alone?!"

Oh no. For Hardy, that was the last straw. Now they're both on the floor, fighting as though they have nothing to lose. And to be honest, maybe they don't.

But that got me thinking. How is it that Theo didn't know that I was going to give him money in my will up until it was read? That takes away some of his motive, but he was in the kitchen at the time, so he had the ability to poison me...but other than the cook, Hardy was the only one who knew how to make my tea, which would explain why he was in the kitchen, and give him more of an ability to poison me. Maybe...

It wasn't just one.
