The Day Their Lives Changed

Chapter 5

This is Sarah's outfit for the day.

Sarah(POV)-

I wake up to the sun in my eyes. I guess I never closed the curtains. I say to myself getting up and walking into the bathroom. I strip off my pajamas, and get into the shower the, warm water waking me up. I get out and dry myself off. I walk over to the sink and dry my hair, I put my hair into a sideways braid, and I brush my teeth.

I walk out of the bathroom and go to my clothes, I decide to wear a black crop top, white shorts, a gray sweater, off one shoulder, black converse heeled schools, and obviously the necklace that I got from the boy 2 years ago. I went downstairs and saw Beth and Jake, "Hey, sweetie, did you sleep well?" Beth asked when she saw me come downstairs and into the dining room, I nodded at her and she smiled. David must have gone to work already.

She put some pancakes and bacon on a plate and put it in front of me. I love pancakes if we ever went anywhere and I could get pancakes I would. "Hey, so, can you drive me to school today?" Jake asked looking at me, Jake doesn't have a car even though he can drive, he usually gets his friends to drive him to school and back sometimes I do it. "Sure, but I thought your friend, whatever his name is, gonna drive you today?" I ask him looking at him suspiciously, "Yeah, about that, well you see, he was but then he heard that you were gonna be here and he said that he couldn't," Jake said grabbing his bag and walking out to my car.

I finish my breakfast and say bye to Beth then go outside to meet Jake when he sees me, he gets in. "Wait is it the kid that you said has a crush on me?" I ask getting into the car. Jake just nods his head and looks out the window this tells me that the conversation is done. Why didn't he come and pick him up, he could of 'hung out with me' while waiting for Jake, I know a lot of guys do that. I say to myself then start to drive to school.

It takes 20 minutes to get to school when we park Jake just jumps out and goes towards his friends. I get out and see Megan and I start to walk towards her when she sees me coming she waves. "Hey, where's Alex?" I say stopping in front of her and looking around for Alex, she's usually heard, when I get here, I always leave at the same time and always arrive at school on time. Megan just shrugs, I see her looking at something so I look to. I follow her line of sight and see a man leaning on a black SUV, talking to Luke and his group.

We stand there looking at them for a couple of minutes when Alex comes up and joins us. "What are you looking at?" She asks looking in the direction that we're looking. "He's hot," Alex says looking at him, me and Megan just nod. We stare a little longer till we see Luke nod his head, then look around like he's looking for something, then his eyes and on me and he smirks and points in my direction and says something to the guy.

The guy turns his head and looks at me. When the man sees me he gets up of the SUV and starts to walk towards me, but before he could the bell rings and everyone is going into school. I turn and start to walk into school, but not before I catch on last glims of the man that is standing there. Who is that man, and why does he look so familiar? I say to myself walking to my locker and getting my books out.

Derek(POV)-

Brett said that I should go to the school myself so that I could see her and talk to her there. So I go and I'm waiting in the parking lot for her, but the only problem is that I dont know how I'm gonna spot in a crowd of kids this big. Every kid is outside talking to their friends waiting for school to start. I see Luke and his friends pull into the parking lot, so I get out and they walk over to me. This is going to be easier than I thought, I say to myself because now I have Luke to point her out to me and tell me where she is.

"Hey, Brett told me you would be here," Luke said walking up to me. "I need you to show me who she is," I say to him, see as more kids have come in now that school is about to start. I see Luke look around looking for her, to see if she's here already. I see him smirk then point in a direction while saying "there she is, your long lost princess." I follow his hand and look in the direction that he's looking and see him pointing towards a girl with two other girls. Which one is she? I say to myself looking at a three of them, then my eyes met the one in the middle and I knew instantly that that was her.

I start walking towards her, but when I get to the stairs the bell rings, and all the kids start to rush the entrance.I see her turn and leave, but before she goes inside I see her turn around and look at me."You will be mine, I won't lose you again like did last time." I say to myself while I turn around and going and sitting in my car, remember that day 2 years ago, the day that I lost her.

I woke up to police sirens, I thought they found me. So I left and didn't look back, I kept walking until I found a payphone, I was surprised it still worked, but I called Brett and told him where I was. He came and picked me up and brought me to the doctors.

The doctor looked at my wound and said that the bullet was out and that the stitches were perfect, and that I should thank the person who did it because they looked like they were done by a professional. Anyways, the doctor told me that I had to stay in bed for a couple of days.

2 days later I went back to find the girl and thank her for saving me and to repay her by saving her from her abusing and disgusting father. But when I went to the house and knocked on the door no one answer, I just thought they were asleep, but when I saw that a window was open I went in and saw that there was no one.

The house was a mess, and all of her clothes and stuff were gone. I went out to the shed because while I was at home I realized that I dropped my necklace, that my mom gave me when I saw that it wasn't there I knew that she must have picked it up. And on that day I knew I would find her, and make her mine.

Ever since that day I have been looking for a girl who had that same necklace it was a gold cross, the only thing that made me know it was mine was that it had something engraved on it from my mother 'Always have faith, my little prince'. My mother gave it to me when I was little and I've never taken it off, except for that day. The engraving was small and hidden, you couldn't find it unless you knew what you were looking for.

I called Brett and told him to cancel all of my meetings because I was gonna make sure she didn't get away this time.
