"Aish!!! Don't do that to me!" Jin scolded when Namjoon snuck up and scared him.
It had been a week since the picture... Incident... and they were still being cautious. They stuck together almost always, and when they weren't together, they were both on edge.
Namjoon was slightly more relaxed than Jin about the whole thing, knowing that he wouldn't let anything happen to the boy he loved, but Jin was still afraid.
He knew that Namjoon would do everything possible to protect him, but he worried that Namjoon would get hurt in the process of trying to keep him safe.
"Mianhae." Namjoon mumbled softly, wrapping his arms around Jin from behind and resting his head on his shoulder. He had just woken up and Jin was in the kitchen making coffee.
"What's the plan for today?" Jin asked.
"School, come home, go to bed?" Namjoon asked. They hadn't really gone out and done anything together considering the situation, but Jin was getting bored.
"Can't we go out and do anything Namjoon?" He whined, turning around to face him. "I mean, we're always stuck at school and in this godforsaken student house, can't we have some fun?"
Namjoon sighed and rubbed Jin's back. "I guess we could. What do you want to do then?"
Jin thought hard, he knew he wanted to do something, he just didn't know exactly what.
He shut his eyes and groaned. "I don't even know what there is to do anymore."
Namjoon kissed his forehead, pulling his beyond stressed boyfriend into his chest. He just wanted to comfort Jin. He had been so worried ever since the picture and Namjoon felt as though there was nothing he could do.
"I'll tell you what JinJin. Spring vacation is coming up, we could go to Busan! It's just an hour flight and we could go sightseeing." Namjoon offered.
"What is there even to see in Busan Namjoon?" Jin sighed listlessly.
"We could go to Taegongdae, or Gwangalli beach, or to Yongdusan park!" He tried hard to convince Jin, thinking that perhaps a change of scenery would do him good, but he only received a sigh as Jin tucked his face into Namjoon's neck.
"I gotta get ready for school." Jin mumbled as he gave Namjoon a halfhearted peck on the lips and went back to his bedroom.
Namjoon knew he had to do something. Jin was slowly giving up right before his eyes, and it was breaking his heart.
___
They walked to school together, silently. There was nothing to talk about.
When they got their, they went to their first class together. They didn't talk before class like usual.
They parted ways after without a word.

"Jin?" Namjoon walked the halls, looking for Jin. He hadn't met Namjoon in front of the school like normal. Namjoon heard whimpering in a janitors closet as he walked past and when he opened it, his heart shattered.
"N-N-Namjoonnnn!" Jin sobbed softly. Namjoon knelt beside him and pulled the shaking boy into his side.
"Jin, baby, don't cry." Namjoon said softly, but to no avail. "What's wrong?"
"I'm scared." Jin whimpered. Namjoon sighed and stood, putting his hand out to help Jin up. Jin was shaky as he took Namjoon's hand and got up.
Namjoon led him through the hall, Jin quickly swiping tears off of his cheeks for fear of someone seeing, but no one was there, and he knew that Namjoon wouldn't let anyone lay so much as a finger on him.
They just kept walking until they reached the river, and then they kept walking until they reached the private little place where Namjoon had taken him that one night.
And then Namjoon stopped, turning around so suddenly that Jin ran into his chest.
"Tell me why." Namjoon said, a hint of authority to his soft voice.
"W-what?" Jin stuttered, sniffling slightly.
"Tell me why you're afraid. Don't you believe that I will protect you?"
Jin's breath caught in his throat at Namjoon's words.
"O-of course I know y-you'll p-" His voice shook as he tried to force the words to come out, tears spilling over again.
He reached up to wipe them away, but Namjoon grabbed his hand and brought it to his lips.
"Namjoon I-I'm-" And after his voice cracked, he couldn't recover.
He broke down and Namjoon held him close, hushing him gently.
"You don't have to say anything, I've got you Jin. I'm gonna keep you safe." He spoke softly.
"Namjoon h-how did anyone get that p-picture? How c-could anyone h-have been in t-there with m-me?" He stuttered, his body shaking hard.
"I don't know baby, but you have to listen to me. I'm not gonna let anyone hurt you. Ever. I'm gonna keep you safe no matter what. Because I love you."
Jin clung tightly to Namjoon, his face buried into the crook of his neck. They eventually ended up sitting on the ground with Jin sitting, silent, in Namjoon's lap, his head rested on Namjoon's shoulder.
"You promise?" Jin whispered after a long time of not speaking.
"What?" Namjoon asked softly, pushing pieced of Jin's hair away from his forehead.
"You promise you'll protect me? I just want you to hold me tight and never let me go."
"I promise Jin. I promise you that."
