Genesis x Reader

Waking up in the middle of the night by a phone call can only mean two things. One- someone has bad time management, 2- something bad has happened.

Reaching over to grab the phone you pull in to your ear without looking at the caller ID. "Hello" you say in a very tired raspy voice while laying down with your head on the pillow.

"Is this ms. (Y/n)?" A unfamiliar voice asks. You can hear things going on in the background but you can't put your finger on what the noises are.

"Yes this is she? Who is this?" You look at your clock next to you and notice it's 3:21 in the morning. "And why are you calling me at such a god awful hour?"

"I'm sorry ms. (Y/n) but I'm hear to inform you that Genesis was harmed on his mission in Wutai and we need you to take over the mission."

"Wait what? Is he okay?"
You quickly get out of bed and rush over to your wardrobe grabbing clothes suitable for work and quickly begin to put them on.

"Genesis will be fine after his surgery but we need you to hur...."

"Listen here man I'm not going anywhere near Wutai until I see him myself." You quickly end the call and rush over to The Shinra Company.

As you walk in you go straight to the recovery rooms and see two 3rd class SOLDIERS on guard. "We can't let you inside ma'am."

"And whys that!"

"We are under strict orders to not let anyone inside while he recovers." They both reply simultaneously.

"Move aside or I'll make sure you both stay in 3rd class. That's my best friend and that's her boyfriend in there" Angeal pushes them out of the way.

As you both walk in you see his left shoulder is bandage up and he seems to be sleeping.

"Do you have a clue what's going on?" Angela asks.

"Not much, just something went wrong in Wutai. He had to have surgery."

Your not one to cry in front of people but you just hate to see him hurt. Just this morning he was perfectly fine now he's in a hospital bed.

Angeal rubs your back trying to comfort you and it does somewhat.

"He'll be okay. You know that. Besides he wouldn't want to see you crying."

You wipe your tears with the back of your hand and sniffle.

"I know.... I just didn't think anything like that would ever happen. You know?"

"Hey don't worry about it to much, you'll just stress yourself out more. I'm taking your place for the mission. You shouldn't go out there. You'll worry yourself sick."

Angeal pats your shoulder and looks at you giving you a reassuring smile.

"Thanks Angeal."

The two of you talk for a few minutes but Angeal has to leave to carry out the mission. You tell him to be careful and he replies with always.

The doctor walks in to give you instructions to follow to help make sure that Genesis's recovery goes well.
He tells you when he wakes up that he is able to leave and go home. You sign all the necessary paperwork saying you are taking him home and will be his caretaker for the next few weeks.

When they said "could make the prescribed patient more moody" they weren't kidding. Genesis is usually a very calm person especially around you but boy did that medicine make him moody.

He would fuss over being cold and hot at the same time. How he hates feeling nauseous. It's even worse when he does get sick.

He also has his moments where he just wants your company. Wether your cuddling him or reading to him.

He can be a real handful. But of course you would do it again and again to make sure he's okay.
