Ignis x injured reader

"So what are we looking for today?" You ask the boys.

"We're looking for the black chocobo egg" Prompto yells excitedly.

"Wait what about the mom, I thought we are looking for her to" you say putting your hands on your hips.

"We.....got word this morning that the mother was spotted dead." Ignis walks over to you and hugs you knowing that you care a lot about the large birds. He lays a kiss to your forehead and says "That's why we have to hurry to save the egg. Let's go."

The whole time you were looking for the egg you were thinking what monster did that to the chocobo? It must be pretty fast and strong  to catch it and take it down.

You know your not the strongest person out here but you know how to take care of your self. The guys aren't really worried about you. They know you can handle your self.

"Hey guys! Over here. I found it." Gladio yells.

Everyone runs over to where he is and sure enough it's the black egg.
"I'm glad we found it before that monster could." You say gladly with a smile on your face.

"We should get it back to Wiz as soon as possible." Ignis says.

As Prompto goes to pick up the egg you hear some noise coming from the bushes all around you.
All of a sudden 10 crocodile looking monsters (sorry I don't know the names) come crawling out trying to go after the egg.

As everyone is fighting off the monsters one happens to sneak up behind you. Once you realized it was behind you it was to late. It clamps down on your ankle and starts slinging you around. You try to kick free but it's no use.

Ignite sees this and kills the monster instantly and picks you up and takes off running to the car.

Prompto grabs the egg as Gladio kills the rest of them off. They run back to the car.

Noctis drives as fast as he can to Wiz and runs ahead to get help.

Ignis carries you into what looks like a vet office for the chocobo's. Ignis had been quite the whole time. He's been holding your hand but hasn't said anything.

He's blaming himself for letting you get hurt. He never thought it could happen. It shocked him more than anything.

"Ignis look at me. I'm fine okay." Your voice grabs his attention and he looks at you. "If I just payed attention.." he starts but you cut him off.

"Don't you dare start blaming yourself. We were ambushed by those monsters. It's no ones fault but mine okay. " you say holding his hand and squeezing it for effects.

"I'm sorry, I sometimes forget you weren't trained like we are. I thought I was going to lose you. I was just thinking that..." you cut him off with a kiss. He seems to relax after that and hugs you close to him.

"It's okay. I'm here and it's going to take a lot more than that to keep me out of action."

~the next day~

"It's hatching!" Prompto yells. Everyone runs over to the nest that has the egg except for you and Ignis.

You ankle is wrapped tightly and you can't put much pressure on it so you hobble over until Ignis picks you up and carries you over where everyone else is.

Everyone watches it hatch out of the egg. When it gets out of the shell all you hear is "ooooooh eeeeeeem geeeeee cutest bird ever!" From prompto. Everyone laughs.

As everyone crowds around the baby you and Ignis walk away for a few minutes.
"I've realized how easy it is to lose someone yesterday."He says holding your hand as you walk.

"I completely let my guard down and for that I'm sorry."
You hate seeing him so down. You stop and run your hand threw his hair and leave it on the side of his face.

"I know you feel bad but I promise it's okay. Your the one who saves me. If it wasn't for you who knows what would have happened."You say wrapping your arms around him and leaning your head on his chest.

"I love you." He says holding you close against him.
"I love you to."
