I needed something stronger.
That I knew was true. All of a sudden the 'Unicorn Dandruff' wasn't working for me anymore. I knew it was because my body was used to it, so it was time to amp it up a little. But before I would do any of that, I needed to take care of other business first.
I know my real mom said she didn't want to meet me, but that wasn't going to stop me from finding and confronting her. After school I was going to go to a wireless carrier store and have them trace the number to a location. It was my only hope in finding her, I didn't have any other information about her.
It was still early in the school day, and I needed to make a full day so the school wouldn't contact my 'dad' again. I had missed a lot of days lately, plus not staying the entire day. I used to go everyday and never miss a day, but things had changed my way of thinking.
...
The closest Boost Mobile store was a few miles away from the school, right beside of the Food Lion downtown. There seemed to be nobody inside Boost Mobile. Good, I can get to my mom quicker.
This wouldn't take long anyway, or at least it shouldn't. I got out of my car and locked it, then headed for the store.
A bell rang when I opened the door, a wave of heat hitting me. The door closed on its own.
The inside looked worn down. The carpet was gray and stained, the walls a dingy white. Only a few metal fold-up chairs sat in the corner away from the front desk. There was a few stands advertising new cell phones and plans. That was the only bright and colorful thing in the store.
A young woman sat behind the desk, twirling her jet black hair. She stared at her phone, texting with her long hot pink fingernails. I went up to the desk and put the piece of paper that had the phone number on it in front of her. The woman finally looked up, sliding her phone to the other side of the desk.
"How may I help you?" She asked, looking at me with her big brown eyes.
I handed her the piece of paper. "I need you to trace this number back to a location, please."
"Er......I don't think I'm allowed to do that without--"
I rolled my eyes. "If you won't do it, let me use a computer and I will," I stated firmly.
She sighed. "I can only do that if the police is involved and request for Boost to trace a number. Is the police involved in any way ma'am?"
Great. Now I would be sitting here forever arguing with this girl.
I shook my head and repeated myself. "If you won't do it, let me use a computer and I will."
She let out a breath, tapping her pink nails against the desk. She made a few noises with her mouth, probably debating whether or not she should help me. Finally, she took the piece of paper and started typing on the computer to her right.
She typed for a long time, then used the mouse, then typed again, all without saying a word. I leaned over the desk impatiently, which made her stop typing and glare up at me for a second. I stood back.
Once the woman got done, she wrote something on the other side of the paper, then gave it to me. She typed for another moment before leaving the computer alone. I stuffed the paper in my pocket after studying the address for a moment.
