ISABELLA'S POV
It was towards spring break. It was my last year in elementary school. I walked home really jolly to meet mum but as I got closer to the familiar path leading to my house I heard two woman having a conversation that drew my attention.
"Isn't she the daughter of that couple that always fights? "

" yeah she is! "

" aren't they getting a divorce? "

" oh my! What a home! "

I walked down the path quietly and the word 'divorce' kept ringing in my head. I just wanted to run home and tell mum what I just heard and confirm if it was true. I got closer walking really fast but my pace slowly diminished as I saw my mum sitting and crying on the floor. I run towards her and she enclosed me in a closer and tight embrace
"Everything is going to be alright. Promise me you won't cry. I love you so much Bella always remember that " she said brushing my hair with her fingers. I got released from her embrace and then asked
" Mum why are you talking like you're gonna die? You won't die right? "

" with due time my darling you'll understand "

I got up and helped her pack our luggage from the floor. We walked down the path that led to the road and never turned back to that house...

My tummy grumbled in hunger and I looked up at my mum but she looked so determined to get to her destination.
"I shouldn't bother her" I said to myself holding on to her hand. We got to a hob, my legs really hurt from walking too much. A old woman who looked like she was in her late 50's, came out of the house and gave mum a really big hug. She looked down at me and beamed.
"Is this my sweetheart Isabella?"

"Yes it's Isabella. My sunshine" the old woman bent down and gave me a with embrace I returned the hug willingly. The old woman welcomed us warmly. I helped mum unpack our luggage "Bella? I'm sorry I didn't tell you earlier" she paused for a while "Your dad and I had a divorce and now we're staying at your Granny Nora's house. I know its really small but you have to manage until I'm able to get enough money for us to move". So those women were right after all, my parents got a divorce.

"Isabella? " Granny Nora called snapping me out of my thoughts. " Yes Granny Nora! " I said turning around swiftly to see my grand mother holding a plate of pancakes. I ate them as fast as I could, Granny Nora smiled at me as she carried me from the ground and placed me on a sitting position on her laps and enclosed me in a warm embrace that made me forget all my problems and slept off... xxx
