2. The bet itself

"You have to get her to confess her love for you and say the 3 magic words, I LOVE YOU," Tyler said with a chuckle.

"Your on bro, remember winner has to break her heart at the end," I said with a smirk on my face.

"Fine, fair deal. shake on it and let the bet begin" Tyler said as we shook hands and I set off to find Carly Miller.

I had looked her up in the yearbook and noticed where I've seen her face. She sat behind me in biology. We never did actually speak but I had a feeling that would all change today. It is time for biology class and I was ready to get this bet over with, how hard could it possibly be to get one girl when I've had so many.

"Please Mrs.Jax, it will help my learning. I need to sit with Carly. She is probably the best student in the class and I am trying to become a better student and even ace your class" I begged.

I could tell by her face that she did not believe a word coming out of my mouth but after 10 minutes of me begging she finally gave in.

"Class, we will be getting new seats today thanks to Mr. Daniel's right here" as she pointed at me the entire class started and killed me with their eyes.

We had gotten new partners about 2 weeks ago and everyone was extremely happy since she finally let us choose who we wanted to partner with.

As everyone stood up she started to pair us off, I was listening to her go straight down the list "Jessica and James, Billy and Kiera, Ryder and Carly" I froze when I heard those words come out of her mouth. I stopped listening to the rest of the list and start to move near Carly.

"Hi, I'm Ryder," I said I'm a very chirpy tone. She looked at me quickly and glanced back down. I saw a flash of repulse in her eyes when she had glanced up from her book.

Before I could say anything else I saw her hand shoot up and Mrs.Jax call on her. "Can I please get a new partner?" She asked with a desperate tone to her voice. I could feel all the other girls eyes staring at her with envy.

Who wouldn't want to be partners with me? I am pretty great.

Mrs.Jax shook her head no to my relief and said in front of everyone "Ryder asked to be paired with you, you are his only chance at saving his grade".

I looked over at her one more time and I saw the same repulse in her eyes with a little bit of anger flaring around. She didn't speak to me for the rest of class and as soon as the bell rang she was gone.

"I meet Carly today," Tyler said with a huge smirk on his face, "she is in my 4th block class. She refused to talk to me but I could feel her love for me growing and slowly driving her crazy"

"Cocky much" I heard a girl's voice say. We both turned around at the lunch table and saw Carly standing there staring down at both of us. "I want to know what is going on and why you both want me as a partner in classes, I will not do all the work if that is what you are thinking," she said with a little spunk in each word.

" I have always wanted to know you, I have just been too shy to ever speak to you" I heard my brother say, I and Carly both share the same look on our faces. I burst into laughter I knew that was the biggest lie I had ever heard.

She looked at me waiting for my answer and I just gazed up at her and said: "Carly I have been failing this whole year, please be my tutor and help me study so I can get an A in his class". I saw a look of annoyance in her eyes as she thought I was being genuine with her.

"Sorry, I can't be your tutor but thanks for at least being more honest with me than your brother. Lying is a big turn-off" she said as she marched away.

"I can pay triple your regular rates if you choose to tutor me" I yelled after her. She froze in her tracks after hearing my offer. She agreed to 2 months of tutoring in exchange for 5x the regular price.

"After school in the library", she said in a sweet childlike voice. I shook my head yes and watch her turn away. At that moment I had an idea.

"Will you please take this picture?" I asked a girl as she was walking by our

Table. She replied back with a very preppy "Absolutely"

I ran over and flung my arm over Carly's shoulder. I could see the annoyance in her eyes and right before she pulled away I quickly turned my head and planted a kiss on her cheek.

She screamed at the top of her lungs and looked at me in a horrifying manner. I didn't know what was wrong with her but I do know she needs to chill.

I got my phone back from the girl and set the picture of us as my wallpaper. "Why did you want a picture of us together, and why did you kiss my cheek in it," she asked with curiosity and still some annoyance in her eyes.

"You're too beautiful not to have as my wallpaper and as for the kiss, who wouldn't want to kiss you even if it is only on the check". I walked off before I could hear her say anything and reply.
