We're out of the base by 2:01. Johanna and I easily get through six peacekeepers, like after the games. I know I won't survive this much longer. I know this when Finnick steps on something, then cries out for help, somewhere below Johanna. Some sort of hole opened up in the ground, and the holo starts beeping. " Oh...." I look up at Lege as Finn and Johanna try to help Finnick up, mostly for the sake of Annie. " I try to make sure nobody else trips and hits something called a pod, apparently lined up in the streets of the Capitol, but I drop the holo. It beeps, and then there's an explosion that knocks me unconsious.
I can tell we're in grass, under trees, as Finn tries to wake me up by slapping my face. I try to reach for his hand, but that doesn't work. He does hear me trying to say something though. Johanna sits next to me, while Finnick also lays on the ground, while Lege and Rose try to revive him. Finn's eyes are puffy, and Johanna's expression is unbearable, as she just watched two people she actually was friends with almost fall into a hole of nowhereness, and be blown off of their feet. Finnick grabs my hand from next to me. " Adjagf" He mumbles. Johanna looks at him. " What?" Finnick mumbles again. And again, and then gives up, groaning and rolling onto his stomach. I try to sit up, but Finn and Joganna push me back to the ground. So I decide to annoy them as much as possible, like the doctors on the Capitol, the first morning after I won the games. I blow air into Johanna's face, but she spits at me. I bring my finger up and poke Finn in the sides.
Well, night one didn't go well. " April, your tracker is dead, we can't find you or Finnick. Are you okay?" Haymitch asks theough the earpeice I didn't think was there. Finn hears and talks into it for me. " We're fine. April and Finnick are shaken up, they stepped on Pods but we won that battle." Johanna stands up. " Okay. Please be careful. Everybody excpt for Rose and maybe Lege are my first friends since my family died, and I don't need you gone too." Then, the most unexpected thing happens; Johanna bursts into tears, falling to the grass and curling up in a ball.
