One week later...
Dr. Callahan called for Jack to come in. She said it wasn't for surgery, for a different reason. However, she wouldn't tell me. I don't know why.
I pulled up to the emergency vet. Once I walked in, Dr. Callahan was standing there, with a big grin on her face.
What is so exciting? I wondered. She then handed me a check for $10,000! "Who- how- why?" I stuttered.
She laughed. "My daughter, Sophie, held a Penny War at her school for Jack. And it happened to be how much you needed for the bill."
"Thank you so much! Tell Sophie I appreciate it more than she can imagine!!" I said.
