It was time for Jack's surgery. He was connected to a heart monitor, just in case. But, Dr. Callahan assured me, very unlikely that it is needed.
I watched the line of the monitor. Suddenly it stopped. I gasped. Dr. Callahan looked at Jack, then the monitor.
She starting laughing, as I started sobbing. "Tasha! Settle down! Jack's not dead. The heart monitor was plugged out from the wall!" she held up the plug, then plugging it back in.
It started again. I starting laughing because I was fooled by a machine.
