Fuzzy Windymoon approached her house, a mushroom hut near the forest entrance. It was surprisingly shady, the only large block of light came through a large hole in the treetops. Fuzzy carried a small grocery bag, the contents dragged a bit along with her tail. Oh thank Mira, my paws are killing me, the fox thought, entering the hut. There was a sign on the door, one side said "Open" and the other said "Closed". She flipped it to "Closed" and shut the door behind her, locking it.
Fuzzy groaned and slid onto a stool. It was near the front of her house, where she ran her business. She made potions for different animals and different looks. Fuzzy groaned again as she eventually stood up to actually enter her house. There was another door and the purple fox pulled out her keys and unlocked the door, the quickly locked it behind her. Now she was home. Fuzzy opened her empty fridge and practically dumped the whole bag inside, except for the eggs and grapes she got.
She went upstairs to freshen up. She approached her mirror and stared for a bit. She was a fox, a rather short one, with purple tones and a few dark moon marking scattered about. She smoothed her fur out, ruffled from exhaustion, and rubbed her dark red eyes. She was about to hit the hay for a quick power nap when she remembered that she forgot to get the mail. She put a paw to her forehead and trudged back outside.
Yeah, yeah, bro, yer runnin' fer somethin' er other. Don't care. She tossed a few papers aside. Oh yeah, news. Forgot about that. The headline read 'Phantom Damage in Bunny Burrows!' Yikes. Poor fools, she mused with concern. Fuzzy put down the newspaper to reveal one last piece of mail, a letter. Hooboy, what now? She rolled her eyes, expecting someone trying to buy her business. Her eyes widened they ravaged the clean, uncrumpled paper.
'Dear Ms. Windymoon,
Thank you for sending in your Hero's Form! Animals like you will save lives from the phantoms. We have selected you and a few other animals to help with the damage on Bunny Burrows. You will come prepared tomorrow with your best battle equipment to receive your assignment. You will then have to work with your team to fix the damage and rescue the trapped bunnies found in the area. We wish you good luck.
Signed,
The Alphas of Jamaa'
The purple fox's adrenaline rose, the tip of her tail wagging excitedly. She'd always wanted to go on a mission ever since she was a kit. Now's my chance to show Ma what I've got! She pumped a fist into the air and immediately started getting ready.
Today was the day. Fuzzy had received an extra letter telling her where she would meet her mission group. She made her way to the clearing that the letter had instructed her to find, which was near Bunny Burrows. She let out an internal groan when she saw her team.
It consisted of a fancy-looking arctic wolf with sunglasses and rare clothing, a blue monkey that was wringing his hands together nervously, and a cheetah dressed like she was from the wilderness. Great... Fuzzy made her way to the group, not even bothering to hide her disappointment. She sat with her team as they all waited for instructions.
It had been almost twenty minutes until the team finally received their assignment. In the meanwhile, they had all introduced themselves. The arctic wolf was named "Major Awesomeswag", the monkey was "Blue Loopytail", and the cheetah was "Flora Lightningpaws". Luckily, the wait was over now. Lisa, the panda Alpha, gave everyone their assignment.
"As you all know, phantoms have wreaked havoc on Bunny Burrows. It is up to the four of you to restore some of the damage. To do this, you must plug the pipes that are polluting the water and free the four bunnies that have been trapped by the phantoms. Good luck!" And with that, she left, leaving the team to fend for themselves.
Fuzzy charged ahead of the rest of her team and investigated the town. "W-wait! We don't know w-what's out there!" Blue exclaimed, scrambling to catch up with the fox. "W-we need to work as a t-team, remember?" He casted a concerned look in her direction. Fuzzy rolled her eyes.
"Fine." She replied shortly, slowing down to a trot so Major and Flora could catch up. When they reached the town, one of the locals informed them on what the plugs for the pipes looked like. Blue plugged the first pipe, using the plug the local bunny had shown them. Fuzzy and Flora spread out to search for the other pipes, and encountered some phantoms. The pair backed around a corner to avoid being seen by the black blob. "Whadda we do?" Fuzzy whispered to her partner. The feline looked thoughtful for a moment.
"I see a... large flytrap plant?" Flora observed.
"That's a Chomper Plant. They trap phantoms." Fuzzy informed.
"Oh! Then I'll lure it in, and you get the plug." The cheetah then darted out into the open, catching the phantom's attention. She slowly backed up towards the Chomper Plant and it opened its jaws and snapped them around the phantom, trapping it. "Fuzzy, go!" Flora shouted. On cue, the fox dove into the clearing with unnecessary flair, grabbed the plug, and rammed it into the pipe to clog it. Flora simply couldn't hold back a chuckle. "It looked like you were showing off for a hunky guy." She mused.
"Ah, hush up!" Fuzzy replied with sass.
With new knowledge about the Chomper Plants, Flora successfully trapped the phantoms near the next plug and snatched it. The water cleared up. First task completed, Fuzzy thought with pride. As the pair made their way back to the center of town to regroup, Fuzzy saw Major simply sitting there, looking over his paws with a pouty face. "There's a leaf on my precious snowy fur! How am I supposed to get this off?" He whined.
Flora padded up to him picked it off. "Was that so hard?" She questioned.
"No, I just didn't feel like getting it." Major turned his nose upwards and pranced away with a smug expression.
Fuzzy was holding back a snarl. That son of a mouse won't even clean his own paws! What a lazy li'l snake! She fumed, then turned to Blue, who was fiddling with his glasses. "We gotta go, Blue. C'mon." She called out to him.
"O-oh! Right! Sorry." He shot up and began to follow her.
The team walked through a few grassy clearings before reaching the trapped bunnies. Along the way, they found a secret passage that had an arctic wolf symbol on it. "Oooh! I-I wonder where it g-goes." Blue mused with a curious expression. "M-maybe if Major stood o-on it-"
"Absolutely not! I am not putting my paws on that dirty and grimy thing!" Major cut the monkey off and stomped away, forcing the rest of the team to follow.
