The team continued to walk, dodging phantoms by trapping them in Chomper Plants or hiding in tall grass. When they passed the phantoms, they found the four trapped bunnies. Each one was in a metal cage. "Help us!" cried out one.
"There are keys hidden by the paths!" wailed another.
"Use the keys to free us!" yelled a third.
"We're counting on you!" the last bunny whined.
"Wait... There were keys we were s'posed to find?!" Fuzzy questioned. "Why didn't we see 'em?!" She flailed her arms furiously.
"Relax, Fuzzy. We just need to backtrack a bit." Flora comforted.
"Th-then let's go!" Blue stuttered, scrambling back to the paths. The two females nodded and followed suit, leaving Major to stare in disdain at the trapped bunnies. He backed away from them with disgust and turned to follow the paths. The pompous wolf refused to get his paws dirty, staying on the paths and avoiding any muddy areas. He hadn't walked very far when his gaze fell on a purple key. Major took off his sunglasses for a moment to confirm his suspicions, then picked up the key. It was grimy, but he beared with it and made his way back to the cages.
Meanwhile, Blue had found a key in the tall grass. But Flora and Fuzzy had a bit more difficulty. One of the keys was very close to a phantom, with no Chomper Plants in sight. Fuzzy inched closer to the phantom ever so slowly, trying to not catch its attention. Once she was close enough, the fox nabbed the key and ran. Flora's key was right in between four of the vile blobs, and she led them into Chomper Plants one by one. Once she had her key, the cheetah met up with her teammates and made their way back to the trapped bunnies.
"Wow, what took you filths so long?" Major mocked, standing in front of one of the cages.
"What took ya so short?" Fuzzy shot back, annoyed.
"Guess I'm just better at this than you." He shrugged. The fox opened her mouth for a retort, but was cut off. "Anyways, I'm gonna open this cage now. You guys should follow my lead." Major pointed to himself vainly and opened the cage, releasing the bunny. She had a daisy on her head, and muttered a quick "thank you" before running back to Bunny Burrows. The other teammates followed suit, freeing the bunnies. They all thanked the team before returning to their homes. Lisa emerged from the trees to greet the team. "Thank you four so much, you did excellently. Since you completed your mission, I will be rewarding you all." She pulled out two necklaces from her bag, one with a sun and one with a moon. "Cooperation is extremely important in working as a team. Fuzzy Windymoon, Flora Lightningpaws, you exhibited this trait with excellence. I present you two with these necklaces." The panda handed off the necklaces to their respective owners.
"Blue Loopytail, you showed great intelligence and logic. I present you with steampunk goggles." Lisa pulled out the goggles and handed them off. "Dismissed." She turned around and headed back into the trees.
"Hey! Why didn't I get anything?" Major whined.
"Maybe it's 'cause ya didn't do nothin'." Fuzzy sassed, strutting away with her necklace. Flora chuckled at the statement and Blue clapped a little.
"W-we should hang out more!" He offered.
"How 'bout dinner at my place? I jus' stocked up." The fox suggested.
"Sure!" Her two teammates cheered unanimously.
The three newfound friends strolled back home, chatting excitedly about how the mission went. Major Awesomeswag stalked after them, eyes gleaming with pure hatred. He'd get back at them, one way or another...
