Classes in the Academy would start in about six months. Felix knew that he couldn't split himself in his several tasks, such as the Search of the Elements, their constant vigilance, as well as being the Academy's Orphetical Coordinator and Counselor and other mini jobs that the Orphets made him do. During the earlier years, while he prepared himself physically and spiritually to be able to travel in time and find the scattered Elements, he had been a very important figure among the Orphets in the Academy, given to his help and strong-willed actions, and his remarkable sense of duty. Orphet Apprentices adored him, so it was quite pleasant for him to be of help to the youngsters. Stawen occupied his same spot, but for the Trickers. There had been no one before him, and there probably wouldn't be anyone after him. He wouldn't say it before Stawen, but he secretly despised Trickers. Maybe not as much as the Orphets did, but he found quite stupid the way they were. A bunch of losers, the Orphet Apprentices would say, and they were quite right. Fendrick Craw was possibly the only one of them who deserved to be an Orphet, had he been gifted.

Being the Academy the only place in the entire world for Orphets to develop their talents – and Trickers, but they simply had none – kids of all kinds and razes and shapes and sizes came to California to the internship they were offered. Of course, the location was chosen randomly, but also because a huge quantity of people from all over the world came to visit the state and Orphets would be less likely to seem suspicious. The Academy's location changed each ten years, and this was the fifth they stayed in California. Felix found it nice, since he had been born in that very same place about a hundred years before, just like Emmett.

As he walked along Orphets Rourke, Brunello and McKenzie during the night at the Elements' Hooch, he was reminded once again that a very different sort of education would be delivered by them this year. The Elements were different. Not Orphets. They didn't need to know Orphetical History or Astrology or the different kinds of Divination.

"They must learn to reconnect with their spirits." Rourke said, and there was a hint of frustration in his voice. "And I have researched and found the Spiritual Meditation Patterns, Master Polidopolus kindly provided me one copy of the Book, but it isn't unlike a mathematical equation. If one of them is wrong, then the entire result is wrong."

"That is right." McKenzie said while Felix listened carefully. "They have been trying their best to follow the patterns, but we see no results. There must be something missing."

"But, Master, those patterns were created thousands of years ago by the Ancient Oracles." Felix replied. The Ancient Oracles were the predecessors of Orphets. "They couldn't have been modified or wrong."

"Is there any chance you could reach the time of our ancestors and find out, Felix?" Rourke asked. Felix's back muscles tensioned only to think about it. Just going a hundred years in the past was, literally, shattering his body and spirit...

"Well... I... I could try..."

"I do not think it'll be necessary." Brunello was a Master in Divination. After Pietro Polidopolus, he was best in accuracy. He stopped the three of them and pointed up to the night sky, which was cloudy. "My vision is blurry, yes, but I catch glimpses of what will be, as I can catch pieces of the stars among the clouds."

The wind blew, especially cold in that moment. Brunello continued.

"I feel that Felix will not have to go back, but that the lost Patterns themselves will come to us in the least expected way. The Elements shall find, even though it will be difficult, their way to their Origins. The best we can do for now is to encourage them to keep trying."

The other three remained silent. Felix always knew that whatever Brunello said, if he ever spoke, would be something serious and mystical. He wouldn't speak nonsense.
