The Dream

I'm falling.

I'm falling into a black abyss before I land into a city that looks super familiar but I can't recall the name of it.

I know how this goes but it still seems to shock me every time.

Here I am. Right in the same place I go to every night when I close my eyes. I head into a small and adorable coffee shop. I get my normal iced coffee and make my way towards a table with a young man reading a book.

"May I take a seat?" I ask quietly so I wouldn't disturb him. He looks up at me and my knees go weak. His eyes were a stunning grey. I lost my train of thought and my ability to speak for a few seconds before he answers back.

"Yeah, I don't mind. I need a little company." He says chuckling to himself.

I seat myself across from him so I wouldn't bother him whilst he was reading his book. I pull out my laptop and start to browse the web to pass time. It's a while before the stranger with beautiful eyes speaks up.

"So what brings you here into this huge city? You don't look like the type to live in a crowded place like this one."

I look up from my laptop, looking around to see if he was talking to someone else but I realize his eyes are directed towards me.

"O-oh, I wanted a new experience you know? See new things and meet new people." I say, trying to clear my throat.

He laughs and shakes his head. His laugh was distracting. It was so sweet to hear it. I shake my head. Why was I thinking about this?

"I guess everyone has their reasons, I pressume." He says bookmarking his place in his book. I focus on his bookmark. It was old and torn up. Which I'm taking as he reads a awfully lot.

I shrug my shoulders messing with my drink straw.

"I guess. I necessarily didn't really want to come here. Just spending the summer with my aunt."

Wait. That wasn't a part of the dream.

"Ah, I see now." He says smiling at me. His smile drew me and and it wouldn't let go of me. I mentally smack myself. I can't get this easily distracted by a boy.

He reaches across the table and holds out his hand. I freaking out. Does he want me to hold his hand?

"I'm Chase."  he says with his hand still reaching out.

I grab his hand and shake it. My hand seems to fit perfectly in his.
"Nice to meet you Chase. I'm Jessalyn." I smile at him.

It feels like hours but then he pulls his hand back, and I put my hands in my lap. My hand. It felt cold. It didn't have the warmth from his hand anymore. Which disappointed me.

"Well, I hope to see you around." Chase says while gathering his things together. I look up at him and put a smile on.

"Me too " I say.

He tells me goodbye one last time, and turns and walks out the coffee. I see him stop outside the window and look directly at me and wink.

My heart started to speed up and I felt my face turn into the worse color of red. He walks away out of sight. I laugh and smile to myself. What just happened?

And why was I falling in love with him?
