SOME OF THESE CAST MEMBERS ARE PLACE HOLDERS!!!!
As person of color, it is EXTREMELY important to me that the ethnicity of a character based on a book/play/real life person etc. matches the person that is cast for that role. Now I picked some people that I thought would be good but I will be replacing them because:
1. They have enough roles in Hollywood. I love Charlize Theron and everything and I think she would KILL in this role if I had the pleasure of making this book a movie but everyone needs a chance. Even if this book never sees the light of day lol.
2. I want the actors that I pick for these roles to be the same race as the characters I wrote. They could be born in whatever country, I'm looking at their family history. If the actor's parents were born in South Asia, that actor is South Asian. So if they're South Asian, then the character is... you guessed it, South Asian.
3. I don't want to offend anyone. At all. I've read a lot of books that either have little to no people of color or they have little to no dialogue OR have dialogue that is nothing but offensive stereotypes. I refuse to be one of those writers.
I will try to make these characters as real and diverse as possible. Also, when these characters go to parties (and they will every once in a while) the girls are NOT gonna wear little black dresses and wear heels. Literally no one wears heels to a party.
ALSO, it'll be a while before I put the story on here. I wanna get at least 5 chapters written and revised each time so I can give you guys more than just a couple pages yaknow? So waits will be longer but you'll get more bang for your buck. Stay patient and awesome <3
