Love Never Fails...

Chapter 2

Ashley's P.O.V

Today I was going to go meet Cody at the beach and surf the waves because it was windy which meant the waves would be bigger than normal.

As I walked down I passed by people who were getting ready to go down or just coming back up from the beach.

"Hey" I heard Cody yell as I walked toward his shining figure in the sun.

I ran toward him and dropped my board as I jumped into his open arms for a big hug. It was as if we hadn't seen each other in forever, meanwhile I saw him yesterday.

"You ready?" He asked

"Hell yeah!" I responded with so much enthusiasm it made him laugh.

I lightly punched his arm "C'mon! First one to catch a wave has bragging rights for the rest of the week!"
And with that I sprinted in with my surfboard in my arms and the cord secured around my ankle. "Aww, that's not fair you got a head start!" he complained from behind me.

I dropped the board and flopped onto it knowing that I needed to get farther in the water before Cody did otherwise he would get the first wave.

As I saw a wave coming Cody came up beside me and we started pushing each other. "Wave!" I called which had him distracted long enough for me to flip him off of his board and still be able to catch the actual wave. I swam up to it and hopped up on the board and surfed over and through the wave enjoying the feel of the water all around me.

"Why are you such a cheater, Ash?"
Cody yelled as he came up from under the water.

I got caught off guard so I stumbled and fell off my board which caused me to end up under the wave. When the wave was finished jerking me around I swam back to the top and screamed "Seriously?! That was the best wave I have gotten all week!"

"Paybacks a bitch ain't it?" he asked with a smirk on his tanned face as his dimples looked even more obvious out in broad daylight.

"Ugh, you are so annoying!" I said getting frustrated with his obnoxiousness.

"And that's why you love me" he said with another smirk.

"Yes, unfortunately" I responded with a dull tone but then added "I know we just got here but since I won bragging rights about you losing a wave to a girl, I think we should go around town, just so I can embarrass you"

"That doesn't exactly sound like fun to me" he answered a bit nervous to see what I would do.

"Please?" I asked him giving him the puppy dog face that he could never resist no matter what.

"Oh, fine let's go, but can you not humiliate me in front of girls, please?"

"See where would all the fun in that be if I didn't embarrass you in front of anyone and everyone I could?" This time it was my turn to smirk.

"Fine" he answered with a gloomy look

And with that we made our way out of the water so I could go have some fun embarrassing him. Yay!
