I dialed Dominos Pizza and ordered some pizza for me, Michael, Jaylinn, Milan and Rose. I hung up and heard a loud noise from outside. I look out the window to see a tree on top of our neighbors house. I started to worry. Where's Mikey?! My breathing started to get heavier. I stated to shake. "Michael! Where are you?" I try to shout. No answer. I look for Rose. She was gone too. My breating got heavier. I started to shake even more. I got on my knees and put my face in my hands. I heard footsteps. I look up to see Jaylinn and Milan. Jaylinn dropped her stuff and ran over to me. She wrapped her arms around me and held me tight. "Skai?! What's wrong?" Milan squealed.
"I-I'm scared." I stuttered.
"Shhh. Calm down. You're okay." Jaylinn said in a soothing voice. "What happened?" I calmed down a bit.
"Your eyes are darker than normal Skai!" Milan said. "Normally they're icy blue, now they're sapphire blue!"
"The tree fell down. Thunder and lightning. Michael and Rose are gone." I mumbled. I got up and went up stairs to my room and grabbed my Nirvana jumper. I was cold and that sweater calms me down for some reason. The doorbell rang. Jaylinn went downstairs and opened the door and got the pizza. She gave him a big tip for driving in weather like this. I headed down stairs and there they stood, with Milan and Jaylinn, Michael and Rose. I ran up to Michael and bear hugged him. "Where the hell did you go," I yelled slapping his arm, "you scared me to death!"
"Ow! I was in the basement getting some drinks and Rose came to help me." he said rubbing his arm.
"She had a fucking panic attack and you weren't there!" Milan yelled at Michael. He looked at me with big eyes.
"You did?! I'm so sorry!" he said hugging me. I walked away and layed on the couch covering myself with a blanket.
*°* °*° *°* °*°
About an hour later, the storm had rolled by and it was all dark outside. We ate all of the pizza and Jaylinn was cuddling with Rose, who was asleep. Finally, the power came on! "Yeah!" Milan yelled making me jump. I checked the time and it was 8:27 pm. Oh shit! I have to study for a history test! I walked up to my room and closed the door. I turned on some music and grabbed my textbook. I studied, and studied, and studied. This was a big test. I needed to pass this test in order to go into a AP class next quarter.
2 hours later everyone has left. Its just me and Jaylinn in our flat. I felt confident in passing the test, so I stopped studying and went to the kitchen and made me some ramen. All of a sudden, I got a call from my mum. "Hello?" I answered.
"Hi babe," my mum said with a shaky, sad voice. "there's something I need to tell you." There was a sniffle.
"Mum what's wrong?! Tell me!" I said in fear.
"Well, your father and I have been, well, fighting all year."
"What happened?!" I yelled into the phone.
"Your father and I are divorced." she cried. Oh my god. This can't be happening! No way in hell! No. No. No! Tears filled my eyes and streamed down my cheeks. I tried to hold in all of my sobs. "I'm so sorry mum!" I whispered. My mum hung up. I dropped my phone and screamed. "Why?!" I screamed. I ran to my room and slammed the door. At this point, I was crying hysterically. I though I was going to have a good life! My parent separated! No! It can't happen! There was knocking at my door. "Skai? You okay?" Jaylinn asked through the door. I wiped my tears.
"Yeah. I'm fine. Just..." I started to cry again. The door opened. "Skai! What's wrong?!" she said. Her eyes full of hurt.
"My parents," I cried, "they're separated." She gasped. Her eyes full of pain. "I'm so sorry." she said almost crying. I got up and sat on my bed.
"It's not your fault. I'm just tired. Good night Jay." I cried and I layed under my blankets and turned my music off.
"Goodnight." she whispered. "Can I have your ramen then?" I giggled. I nodded. Jay turned the light off and closed my door. I closed my eyes and fell into deep sleep.
