The Place of No Return

If you could hide from all your troubles,

Would you?

If you could run from all your problems,

Would you?

Have you ever wanted to disappear,

To be freed  from guilt and pain?

Have you ever dreamed of leaving,

To get away from yourself?

Here, the lost are collected.

Here, the unwanted reign.

Here, is where I am now stuck,

Unable to return.

There’s perks here, everything has perks.

No one sees me,

No one needs me,

No one bothers me.

But here, no one holds me,

No one wants me,

No one knows me.

I am alone.

We are all just lost

In the shadows,

Found by darkness,

Ensnared by our nightmares.

We are all scared

In this blackness,

Craving the Light,

And fearing the Dark.

We are all a part of this madness,

In a way, we belong.

Here, we fit in with this agony,

Understand its appeal and its repel.

Here, we can hide

From the eyes that judge us.

But here, we can never learn,

Never grow.

We cannot find the way back,

Can’t return,

To the lives we once knew.

We are trapped in our own demise.

Each of us are searching,

For a way out of this labyrinth of misery.

Each of us are looking,

For an escape.

Here, in the gloom,

Sometimes you can hear others,

Hear their screams,

Hear their terror.

Here, in the black,

Sometimes you hear silence.

Nothing but your own breath

And the pounding of your sad heart.

Here, the cold chills you

To the bone.

Here, the loneliness affects you

To your very core.

Here, you can be someone else,

Or no one at all.

You can change who you are,

Or fade into the Dark.

Yet there is beauty in this place,

When you give up

For all your worries and concerns

Are gone.

There is beauty in this abyss

Where nothing can be seen

And pain can be forgotten

If you give up.

Why struggle

When it just causes hurt?

Why attempt

When you could fail?

Here, there is no need to try,

To be someone you’re not,

To accomplish the impossible,

To finish what you started.

Because here, it does not matter

What you do and what you don’t do.

Here you have the freedom

To do as you please in the cover of shadows.

Here, there is no right and wrong,

Good and evil,

Love and hate.

Here, everything just is.

No matter how fast I run,

No matter how much I try,

I can’t escape this maze

I built up around myself.

And as I sit

And think about

Surrendering to the Dark

I remember you.

Remember your words

So bold and true.

Remember the feelings

You stirred up inside.

Hope, love, joy

Blooming up.

Sadness, loss, despair

Drifting away.

What I miss the most,

What I’d trade

Or give away anything for,

Is you.

In this place

It’s impossible

To keep track

Of time.

And in this place

Every second

Away from you

Feels like a thousand lifetimes.

And in this place

Every minute

Away from you

Feels like an eternity.

And in this place

Every hour

Feels like

Hell.

Lost and broken,

In The Place of No Return,

Darkness grows here,

As hope shrinks away.

All faith gone, all joy forgotten,

Until you and your Light show up,

Take me by the hand,

And lead me down the secret path to happiness...
