Chapter 10

Loren's P.O.V

In the middle of the night i woke up and saw Arlen wasnt there.

"Arlen," I called out into the darkeness. No response.Suddenly my phone went off and I looked at it. It was a text from an unknown number. I opened it and it said; Hey its Arlen. You wrote your number on my hand. Just letting you know I went home.

I texted back okay. I looked at Riley who was snuggled into my chest. I smiled and relaxed. Im not entirely sure what happened last night. I feel Riley shiver and pull her closer to me. She yawns and slowly opens her eyes and looks at me. I smiled at her.

"Hello there," she said sleepily.

"Hey. How did you sleep?"

"Good infact."

"Thats good. Hey I should probably head home. My dad will make it worse the longer I stay," I said standing up.

"Be safe," She said hugging me.

"I will," I said hugging her back.

I grabbed my phone and walked out of the door. I was lost in thought until i reached my house. I could hear my dad pouring beer into a glass. I winced and went in the house.

"WHERE THE HELL HAVE YOU BEEN," He yelled at me.

"Out with a friend," I said as quiet as a mouse.

"I DONT REMEMBER GIVING YOU PERMISSON TO DO THAT!"

"I left a note on the table," I lied. He slapped me. My cheek stung and I snapped.

"WHAT THE HELL DID I EVER DO TO YOU? AND DONT YOU DARE SAY MOMS DEATH IS MY FAULT! I LOVED HER! IM YOUR SON YOUR SUPOSED TO BE THERE FOR ME! BUT NO YOUR NOT! ALL YOU DO IS DRINK AND BEAT ME! YOU HAVE NO JOB SO YOUR EVENTUALLY GOING TO RUN OUT OF MONEY! AND IM REPORTING YOUR ABUSE! I HAVE THE BRUISES TO PROVE IT!"

Rage flared in my Dads eyes. He shoved me into the sink and he punched me in the jaw. I tried to push him off of me but I wasnt stong enough. I had a shot of ardinline and shoved him hard and he fell backwards. I grabbed his wallet and picked up the glass and chucked it at his head. Then without looking back i ran as hard as i could out the door.
