Personally I like how the unlined scales look a lot better

I haven't added the darkest blue on the unlined sketch, but I'm just trying to figure out how to shade realistically at this point, and that darkest blue is a little too dark
I'm probably going to work on some Wayfinder drawings so I can practice on her scale colorings
