We eventually got outside of the Hotel Dumort where Luke was already waiting outside.

"Hey, are you okay? I heard they locked you up." Luke asked with worry as he hugged me. I sighed in relief.

"Yeah I'm fine. Don't worry." I replied. In that moment, the door of the back entrance of the hotel flew open and Clary came running down the stairs with Simon right behind her.
I could almost feel the tears running down my face as I saw Simon's state. Clary immediately ran to hug Jace and I ran to hug Simon.

"Simon I'm so sorry. You shouldn't be going through any of this." I said barely in a whisper as I hugged him tight. He immediately wrapped his arms around me. I smiled as I felt my whole body relax on his embrace, he was okay.

"I know. Clary confessed it was her choice and that you didn't agree. But thank you, for being there when it happened." He said as I pulled away. I looked at him as tears threatened to come out.

"I'm sorry I didn't come to look for you. Clary went on her own and then things went to shit in the institute. I know it's not an excuse, but I love you. Never forget that." I said as I cupped his face and gave him a small smile.

"Never." He replied and gave me a quick kiss on my forehead.

I turned around to see Clary looking at me. I immediately walked up to her and hugged her.

"I'm sorry. You were totally right I should've-" She began saying but I cut her off.

"Don't. What's done is done, but we'll work together to make it better." I reassured her. She pulled away and gave me a small nod accompained with a sad smile.

"Can we please focus on the matter at hand?" Izzy snapped. "Unless no one here cares that the Clave is planning on murdering Meliorn."

"What?!" Clary asked in disbelief.

"They think Meliorn has more information on Valentine and the attack than what he said." Jace explained.

"They're taking him to the Silent Brothers." I added in a whisper. I couldn't believe the Clave was going this far, torturing a downworlder.

"We have to stop them." Clary declared.

"That's the plan, Clary. Rescue recovery." Jace said as he crossed his arms.

"We get him from the guards, in and out. No one gets hurt." Izzy said as she gave us all a look.

"Wait, so you want us to go up against the silent brothers and a league shadowhunters guard unit?" Clary questioned.

"Without any backup?" Luke added raising an eyebrow.

"Pretty much sums it up, yeah." Jace smirked.

"It's not the first time we go against something without backup so..." I said as I shrugged.

"Is Alec coming?" Clary asked.

Jace Izzy and I shared a look. I sighed as I turned to face the ground. I couldn't believe Alec was willing to let this happen.

"No, not this time." Jace informed slowly as he crossed his arms and Clary turned to look at me.

"If they're doing this to seelies, no downworlder is safe. But we can't go in alone, not if we don't wanna be detected." Clary stated.
