"Oh just shut up Mika you're just a fucking mistake, you,you don't deserve my love" She slurs, spitting in my face , in the mean time she could barely open her eyes never mind form a sentence.
"Love?" I laughed darkly.
"Love?!" I scream back, she shuffles around in a huff, kicking multiple bottles as she mutters under her breath. Slamming the door in her room causing the whole house to shiver.
"You got my name wrong, again!" I scream into her door.
"Fuck off" she almost whines, upon hearing a thump I walk into my room to grab my hoodie and bag.checking to see if my art book was inside I smile down at it while closing my door gently.

peeking through my mothers door a crack, satisfied at the slump body on the floor I head out of the house, taking three breaths before I slam the door at breakable force, kicking it a few times before I hear more bottles shattering. Quickly scattering around the bush of the house , I peer around to see her open the door, take a step out and trip into the pavement.

Passed out and bloody I shove her back into the house grunting whilst locking the door , I peek through the window to see my dogs growl down at her then heading into my room to safety. turning to the curb I sigh as I watch the stars peer around the thick cover of the clouds.
I miss you dad.
For a split second his voice rung through my ears, distorted by the years of his absence.

After my dads death, I refused to drink, considering he died because of it with the help of my mother too. You often hear abuse coming from the men to the woman, well that's not the case for my parent. My lips turn up in discuss when I peer at the small garden path to our house, bottles shattered and tossed from the window, creating a pile below them.

Distant chuckles cause my head to turn in the direction in front of me. The group of boys we all know very well to steer clear from in this town stare down at me from the steps of their mansion like house ,sipping on some beers. I scowl visibly and pick up my bag, subconsciously reaching for my knife and placing it in my front pocket, making my way across the street and up to the abandoned house next door to them. Their stares are intimidating but I manage to shake off the fear rising in my gut. Joel, who I believe is the 'leader' form sits at the top, visible ranking. His grey eyes shatter mine in an instant at the quick contact, somehow he breaks it. Why would he break the contact first?

As usual, confidence over takes my fear and I lean against the burnt door , watching them stare at me in amusement. My eyes don't move from Joel, to take out a nest you must first take out the leader, my fathers wise words ripple through my mind as I wait, wait for some action from them. Their laugh intensifies when my front door opens from across the street, revealing my mother slumped over, letting out the dogs then falling back, sliding in and out of consciousness .
"Jet, Casper get here" I growl and they fiercely stride across the road, cars are no were to be seen, not in this neighbour hood. My dad bought me twin German shepherds for my 13th birthday, I trained them intensely and now, they are my best friends, we were a sort of pack.. They come sit by me on the porch, forgetting the stares from next door I grab some paper out my bag checking to see if it was the drawing of the boys, seeing the picture I started intensely creating an origami dragon passing it to Jet who takes it carefully in his mouth.
"Deliver" I touch his left shoulder and he spots the boys on the steps, trotting over to them casually as I stroll into the house.

Out the window I see Jet drop it into Joel's hands, he pats him lightly before he sets off again , following our trail into the burnt down house.

JOEL---

Her face is stern While she concentrates on the piece before her.
"Dude those dogs are good with her" Mack comments from the step below, I nod my head in agreement.
"Heard that her family is really fucked up tho, including her" Ant purses his lips at his own comment, clearly remembering when he received the information."well no shit did you see what just happened at that house, her mums a mess" Mack adds again.

"What is going on?" Jesse chuckles as one of her dogs comes walking up to us , shifting past the boys and up to me, dropping paper into my hands, even at first sight I could tell it was a dragon, I pat the dog and open up the paper, peering around to the next house, she was nowhere to be seen.
"What the fuck, Joel look" I stare down at the paper, it was us on these steps, every little detail to the beers , the haircuts on our heads and the lamppost to the left" she was watching us before we even knew. A smirk grew on my face as I turn to the house again, no one dares go in there, not even my gang, after it burnt down at least 20 years ago people created stories, ones she clearly didn't believe.
This girl is more clever than I thought. Something glimmering caught my eye in the window, the glass form over her eyes reflected the lights in the house, her smile vivid against the pitch black within the house. This is like a wake up call, I check my watch, at 3:Am that is .
