2 WEEKS BEFORE WINTER BALL

Daniel's POV

                 I wake up to the sound of my alarm. It's Thursday, and I still struggle to get up in time for school. I look at the time and see it's 8:35. "Fuck." I have 10 minutes to go to the bus stop, to meet Bella and Skye. I rush and put on my clothes. I grab my backpack and rush out the door. My mom says " Have a good day." I pretend not to hear her. I run as fast as I can, and since I'm captain of the wrestling team it's not that fast. I see Bella, she looks at me and waves. I run to her and we hug. she is one of my best friends, since Freshman year.

Bella"s POV

                I always wonder how he gets hear so late. I can tell he's anxious for some reason. He keeps fidgeting his fingers. I don't know why. We talk a few minutes about how our morning was. His was shit as always. Then we see Skye walking up, but she's not alone. She's with Dylan. I could tell it suprised Daniel by how he looked at them.

Daniel's POV

            I see Dylan, the artist of the school. I see him with Skye, and this fire builds inside of me. It's not like me and Dylan have any beef, but I prefer him not to be here most of the time. As they approach, I give Dylan a "bro" hug. Then I give Skye a hug and all of the anger just left. When we let go I started to think, " What's happening? ". I don't like her, I mean, I do. Just not in a way like that.

Bella's POV

            I gave Skye and Dylan a hug. I look over to Daniel, and I see a weird look on his face. A look of confussion. As the bus arrives, I see Daniel get behind Skye. I think to myself, maybe he's trying to get a seat next to her. As we take our seats, my theory is proven right. I see him zoom right to the seat next to her.

Daniel's POV

           As I take a seat next to Skye, I notice Bella staring at me. I could'nt help myself, I thought. I see her smurk at me. I already know what she's thinking. I try to ignore her and focus on Skye. " Hey, you going to the Winter Ball? ", Skye asked me. " I don't know. ", I reply. Maybe I'm just talking out my ass, but this was literally the " Bus Ride from Hell ". It seemed like hours of awkwardness. Which is weird, considering I talk to Skye every single day, with no problem. We finally arrive at school, and go to the Cafeteria.

Bella's POV

            What is going on with him? I've never seen him act like this. I pull Daniel by his arm. " Are you okay? " I ask. He doesn't say anything. " Earth to Daniel! " I scream. " Wuh... I'm sorry... I uh... was just thinking about something. " The look he had made me fear something was wrong with him. I've never seen him this way. Maybe the dance is getting to him.
Or maybe something else. Could it really be though.

Daniel's POV

             Bella pushes me in the corner. " Listen, is there something you want to tell me? ", she ask. I know what she wants me to say. I refuse to do it. " I'm great! Couldn't be better. " I wink at her, just to frustrate her. She gives me a stare. Now this may sound like some Twilight shit, but it seemed like she saw right through me. The bell rings. " Oops, sorry. I have to get to class. ". Talk about saved by the bell.
