Chapter Four:
|eleanor's pov|
"Is it the usual place?" I ask Raleigh, knowing it will be.
I don't really like Raleigh, she gets whatever she wants, just because she can surf, and is beautiful. Nobody tells her "no" so she has everything, but she doesn't work for it. It's a shame, really, what this world has come to.
She dreams of a day where she won't have to cry herself to sleep. Is our generation to blind to see true beauty lies beneath the skin?
Memphis May Fire is perfect.
Also, our world is too caught up in making scenarios over people, that probably aren't even real. A perfect example would be since I study and try to do well in school, I'm a nerdy girl with no life whatsoever. I will admit, I am a bit nerdy, but I wouldn't consider myself having no life. Music and my friends are my life.
Also, people think you have to be some kind of emo girl to listen to hardcore music, but that's not true at all.
I don't have anything against "emo" people, they're emotional. I mean emo does stand for emotion, although a lot of people don't look at it like that, emo is the abbreviation for emo. I don't understand why people have hate toward them.
Nobody should have hate toward them, unless they're like Raleigh Hemmings.
I don't like people like her, getting whatever they want because of their appearance. She's a surfer but she can't really surf. Her hypocrisy is probably the only reason she does happen to be famous. I mean, here she's this girl who wants all the attention all the time, but out there, she's different. I just get so mad seeing her trying to act like she doesn't want thanks, and saying things about how she doesn't want to be called famous because she wants to stay humble.
Fake.
I don't understand, why do we keep making stupid people famous?
"Well duh, the boys aren't going to say no to me. Except maybe Luke, he's a retarded little prude who always wants to go against what I want to do," she says.
I know she's Luke sister, but that makes me mad. She shouldn't want to do the opposite of him, she should want to be like him. Who wouldn't want to be like him, he's the nicest, funniest, most attractive guy I know.
I want to say something to Raleigh, I really do. It's just the way she lives her life, I don't agree with it. She doesn't know how to work or choose what to spend her money on. I have to choose to either dress like a peasant and eat like a king, or dress like a princess and eat like a peasant.
It's probably why people think I'm trying to be anorexic.
But I'm not trying, it just, happens.
"Oh. Nice," I can't be mean to her.
Luke seems like a family man, and just because him and his sister argue, that doesn't mean he would just choose me over her. Nothing can really ever break a brother and a sister's bond.
"Yea, go wear something, nice. Luke is gonna be there," she smiles
"Okay,"
I run up to my hall, I've got to wear something nice, so maybe, finally, Luke will make the first move.
